Stay tuned as we uncover the chilling truths behind this bizarre case of small-town secrets and sinister events.

Centralia only inspired the physical appearance of the ‘alternate’ (according to that terrible SH movie) version of the town. Silent Hill was/is a video game series, the first of which was the one the movie was based on. The second of the series is my favorite game.
@13Cilla
I love listening to your stories. You make it hard for me to turn it off and go to sleep! lol Thanks for all of your work bringing us such informative stories.

30:10 the church that's standing isn't St. Ignatius, so that doesn't exactly fit the "curse".
@iamsquatty
Would love to see you do a video about chernobyl 😊💜

STEPHANIE!!!! Your conscious and scathing commentary on this story was so compelling. I have never agreed with a video more. Please never stop sharing your personal thoughts!
@JessieLee_
I’m only 12:42 in and I have to agree that anyone doing a video or writing an article should do the dang research. These ppl lost so much and that’s the least they can do. Ugh it’s so frustrating that some “journalists" want to sensationalize something traumatic to so many and our land. I came across your video because my son was saying he hated how Netflix only had season one of Silent Hill and when I went to see where he could watch the second one, I seen the question pop up asking if Silent Hill was based off a true story or event!? So I started digging and when I seen your video, I knew how much you love History and care about the town and the people who this effected. I know my girl does her research & as far as I can see your video is the longest and a 2 part series. Thank you ❤
@northernnomiehomie
This is my second time watching the Centralia videos. Love your other videos, but also hope you do many more installments of Strange and Unusual!! ❤
@romanaa7070

@kittykitty8895
Still happens today , look at elderly vets , fought in wars lost limbs and sleep on streets, government should have apts , one room and bath , for vets and nurses to help bath them , but looks like 1775 is still being run by same devil inside the White House today! 😢
@Mandy-nt2cs
Yes, the Civil War cost so many young lives.. and it's truly disgusting.. how the Democrat Party has brainwashed modern Americans into believing that every early American, every white American.. except for themselves of course.. are horrid racists who care not about their fellow Americans.. when it was lives of white boys & young men that were lost in an effort to end slavery. When it was white folks risking their lives to run the underground railroad.. all while it was the Democrat Party enslaving, abusing & oppressing all along. It's unbelievable really.
@Mandy-nt2cs
Anyone who feels like we have to have early American History, the Founding Father's & anything else related.. are ignorant & have been mentally manipulated. It's a simple fact.
@104yearsago
We learned about this in elementary school in 3rd grade. I remember reading this. We each got packets and got to read about this on it, it included pictures of the fires.
@H3LLRAZORMUGGZ13

Just saying…. I too love monopoly, I collect them 🩷
@dahliacheung6020
Hold the phone. I've always heard the Centralia mine fires explained the way it was explained in that clip you included which said "the fire is believed to have started when burning garbage at a dump ignited an exposed vein of coal".
No. Nononono and I can't believe the video worded it like that. I always believed this was more of a true accident. Some hooligan burning their trash too close to an old mine or, as it's phrased here, starting a fire in a regular old landfill. I did not know that the landfill was IN A FORMER MINE. I didn't know that they lit this landfill on fire KNOWING THAT THIS MINE CONNECTED TO THE OTHER MINES!
This is the stupidest, saddest story of fire burning up a town I've ever heard. How the hell did they think they could get away with doing this? They might as well splashed gasoline over everything within the city limits and set it ablaze. Sure the mine fires happened slower but the end result is the same. 2020, a formerly bustling town reduced to a population of five. Shameful
@nicoleackerman205
It is crazy that it is still on fire.
@d.ingram6264
Ŕemoving statues from public government property isn't about hating someone. It isn't trendy. It's showing long overdue respect for black Americans who should not have to pay taxes to pay for public displays that celebrate and glorify the suffering of their ancestors. And no American should have tax dollars pay for celebration of Traitors who caused the death of over 600,000 Americans.
@SoulShiner1115
So on brand for the American government to take that poor guy’s money, not pay it back, then throw him in debtor’s prison.
@katiesabo
I can assure you that as a Pennsylvanian, all of Pennsylvania is a portal to hell 😂
@othername1000
Thousand degree mines, why no thermal energy plants/industries?
@user-ek7ww2lh6e
I just heard about this place today! I live about 3 hours from here and now I came across this video from one of my favorite story tellers! I watch Stephanie all the time and didn’t see this until today!
@sharminmohammad745
Carbon monoxide poisoning.
@FindingJesseFarber
@stephanieharlowe You did an awesome job on this video!! I’m from this area and I even learned some things I didn’t know! Amazing job!!
Another great mystery in our area is the increasing amount of missing young men. The father of my children, Jesse Farber, went missing from Tamaqua, Pa on August 11th 2015 under mysterious circumstances!
@Lilmisscostumedrama
Nice of the US government to recognise people that help them 🙄🙄🙄
@Lilmisscostumedrama
Omg only posted 4 months ago! How DID I miss this?!!!!! This place is incredible and helped to inspired the Silent Hill game franchise.
@heathergreenakers
Almost everyone that complains about ‘colonizers’ are sitting here reaping the benefits of what those evil ‘colonizers’ accomplished.
So….if you’re upset, go find a native and give them your land and your house to make up for what was done to their ancestors. Otherwise, stop whinging because today’s morals don’t line up with the ones held 400 yrs ago (imagine that).
