There ya go!! Have a music festival in your backyard!! For the past few years I have been volunteering at a local live music festival held at a campground, it holds 2500-3000 people, and they get some good older bands. I got faith that you could set something similar up!!

I would die of laughter if Taylor Swift built or bought property for performers and banned Ticketmaster and Ticketmaster defenders.

She has the money to do it in at least one state, if not two or more.

America is an Oligarchy. from Pharma to Meat to Sugar to Oil to OUR FOOD to Amazon to Walmart to Dollar Tree (there are more Dollar Tree than Walmart and Target combined) and TicketMaster. Vote Blue

  • @karlabc9251

How about every single person who has bought ticket online through ticketmaster in the last 20 yrs start a lawsuit 🙄 I hate Ticketmaster bunch of crooks

  • @pinkstitcher

I loath Ticketmaster and the whole live music industry is messed up. I go to a lot of live gigs and also play in a band. By the time the ticketing agent, the promotor and the venue take their cut we often lose money on shows. Merch is where the money for bands and the venues often take a cut of that too.

One of New Era's advisors, Dan Abel, worked for CAA (Creative Artists Agency) for over 2 years. So of course he has a ton of contacts in the music industry. One could assume he knows lots of people at Live Nation. I would love to read into the backgrounds of everyone else who advises this company… I see 24 advisors on their site, and only 13 employees!

Within "Anti-Trust" law there is the concept of "geographic monopolies". It could be your ISP or Cable or buying tickets. It's a local affair. The ticket people want to dominate nationally, but they want to restrict locally.

  • @LauraAnn1980

Ticket master has been fucking around for decades. I remember Peal Jam boycotting them back in the 90's. Hopefully now will be their time to find out. My SIL is the ticketing manager an absolutely iconic concert venue DC. She has a thing or 2 to say on this matter.

  • @stacyfrazierbauer8811

After the bots bought them all up you couldnt find a seat for Taylor under 1100 bucks in Cincy. I was so PO.

  • @MoonlitSunflower

I don't go to concerts enough to personally be effected by ticket master. I am still discusted. It may be because of ticket master that I don't go to concerts more often though. Most artists I want to see are too expensive.

  • @emilyschneider478

I’m glad people are taking on ticket master. On numerous occasions they have CANCELLED tickets I had for a year just to sell them to a group for absurde amount of money three days before the show after I’ve booked hotels and stuff. Guess they reserve the right to cancel for whatever reason. They are scummy and need to be taken down.

  • @abigailrade44

I have no direct experience with ticket master because I refuse to buy any tickets from them

  • @sherylrae

  • @surrealkit4843

ADR is such a modern internet concept of a business. It should be illegal.

  • @Melissa-ll6jv

I just got back from a 2 day high school marching band competition, two 2 day tickets $59, the ticketmaster fees on those tickets $30.

  • @apathydisastrophe

I was going to see Papa Roach and Spiritbox (my favorite band I try not to miss) and I couldn't sell my ticket back to LiveNation. I can't understand why, when I paid the fees incase I couldn't go. Ugh.

  • @welshrose

£422 if I wanted a ticket to see Taylor and I'm disabled I can't find tickets for wheelchair users so I'm off to the cinema

  • @mariokarter13

Swifites unironically be telling the judge "All you have to do is ~STAY~!"

  • @suzyvp8968

We just got charged $800 a seat for U2’s added on dates. We were AT THE HARDROCK BOX OFFICE at the supposed opening time; they don’t even staff the box office anymore. Instead, we grabbed breakfast and had to buy the tickets through Ticketmaster on our phones. It’s a total scam.

  • @melissachamness6233

Wouldnt it be awesome if we could ban everybody from buying tickets just to prove a point

  • @jennmoslek921

About to show my age here BUT does anyone else remember when you could walk into a Blockbuster Video & tell them what you wanted tickets to? They'd slide a laminated seating chart across the counter, you'd pick your seats, pay & They'd give you the actual tickets! I walked in once & bought 2 tickets to a concert AND 2 tickets to an NFL game for $93 total!

  • @luannhuth5752

I grew up going to concerts and saw alot of bands. Ticket pricing through ticket Master has gotten out of control. I haven't been to see a show in about 5 years other than small venues not through ticketmaster and live Nation. I would rather buy t-shirts from the bands direct than pay ticketmaster.

  • @sweatytea333

I don't go to many live shows and the ones I do go to are usually pretty small. But I wanted to get my dad and his wife tickets to see a comedian a few years ago at Christmas. So irritating. I didn't fully figure it out until I already purchased the tickets but I ended up having to download the Ticket Master app on my dad's phone and log in with my info so they could use the tickets I bought for them as a gift. There was no option to get physical tickets like I had hoped and there was no way to transfer as a gift or send the digital tickets to anyone else.

  • @narbiclaire2503

Isn't this considered a monopoly? Why don't we hear about monopoly laws anymore?

  • @cheraz713

I have purchased concert tickets exactly twice in the last 15 years, and it was ONLY because I really wanted my kid to experience it. $800 for 2 tickets in lame seating area. That can FRO.

  • @cortney3798

I watched the Era Tour in theaters on Halloween and OMG I WAS BLOWN AWAY! She puts on a fantastic show

  • @TheCarolinaAsh

Swifties literally broke Google with the vault puzzles and Google was prepared. Ticketmaster better take notice. Also our side quest thanks to Travis is getting all NFL stadiums to swap from artificial turf to natural because it reduces head injuries.

  • @EveGomezProduction

    Ticketmaster scamming so bad

  • @cecilia8585

Sconvolta da come sul documentario di Netflix difenda a spada tratta Jonny Depp. Veramente scandalosa.

  • @tamadrum32

Phish fans have been suffering through Ticketmaster's monopoly for over a decade, so we are thankful for and fully support the Swifties standing up to TM

  • @melissacoulter3996

There weren’t even tickets left for the Capital One Presale… I know I logged on at 12:59 for the second it was 1PM. I was 500 in line for Tampa-Thursday and there were no tickets but it didn’t say that!!! It would show tickets but act like it was a internet issue when cashing out. Forcing everyone to then TRY AGAIN…. Get back in line, try a different day… only for it to keep happening. It wasn’t until the next day they said all tickets were sold day 1

  • @melissacoulter3996

Instead of paying Ticketmaster in presale because of their nonsense, I had to buy them later for $900 each!! $725 plus fees and that was CHEAP because I waited until the day before thinking people would come down on prices… my tickets the day before were $3k each lol

  • @melissacoulter3996

The issue with Ticketmaster was the No ticket issue that we sat online for in presale for 12 hours when in reality Ticketmaster had accidentally sold every ticket the day before!!! Plus the whole no bots …. Right

  • @jimmynava5644

    I think judge is a swiftie ❤😊✨️

  • @julienotsmith7068

Well I didn’t have an issue against Ticketmaster, but now I do. Godspeed, Swifties.

  • @sequence3.6.95

Why can't the artists, every band and solo artis get together and refuse to play any live shows and demand new rules regarding the sale of tickets ?

  • @teawill509

I have a large yard as well. Let’s “band” together and have lawn concerts. Port-a-potties here we come. My dad also left me a concession trailer. We got this! 😂 Seriously, I’ve seen Taylor Swift every tour until the Eras tour. I couldn’t afford 2K per ticket. I’ve seen Bonjovi 5 times, Keith Urban 7 times. I had to stop seeing my fav bands due to ticket master and scalpers. It’s now a rich man’s game. Breaks my heart. It was a family thing. 3 generations going to concerts together. No more. 😢

  • @alis8387

Thank you for covering this Emily. And it’s not just music. Sporting tickets are ridiculously to.
Also. Go see TSO. They are phenomenal and put on the most incredible shows.
