Is it possible that Ruby Franke could get time served out the end of this because she’s already been in prison for 5 months and I feel like she’s not going to get punished properly

  • @IngaLeo4

@39:20 I think that everyone who saw 'The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez' (on Netflix) already got a pretty good idea of how useless the child protection services are. This case is just another evidence of that.

  • @Mgmorris98

I’m really proud and grateful for the commentary community for calling her out even before all of this. unfortunately, it ended up the way it did no matter whether they called her out or not but I really appreciate that we still have people willing to call out insane behavior by other creators.

  • @AD-wx1rt

    That 911 call… 😢

  • @MRSFeeX

The children should have the money what is left.. they worked for it.preforming cleaning weeding..

  • @SurelyLord

@emilydbaker thanks for setting limits on your coverage of these stories. And no we don 't need the details. Thanks😊

  • @nancaraway8413

I think you did a terrific job and yes, I would like to see you go further to see what takes place. My main concern is for the kids.

  • @hazelangus

A fair bit of information in that 911 transcript. Poor kid. Poor all of them. So this exceptionally brave young man says nothing bad is going on with his siblings. That says a lot, given those kids were also found emaciated and significantly injured.

Suggests the boy either didn't see those things as "anything bad", anything outside his perception of normal (and whatever had just happened to him is potentially worse), or he differentiated the treatment he was receiving by saying that this was his fault.

Mr and Mrs F have a long public history of 'strict' parenting (at the least) but it appears that as the relationship b/w Mrs F and Mrs H. solidified, Mr F. became sidelined from his marriage and family, and the parenting became increasingly neglectful/abusive. From other sources there appears to be some kind of psychological enmeshment b/w Mrs F and Mrs H.

  • @rebekahcopeland500

I agree, care and concern for the children are clearly not a high priority. However the public appearance of concern for the children is usually something on display by such high profile and upper middle class participants — where appearance is everything.

  • @meeschell50

Haven’t been here in awhile, your hair looks amazing! 😍

  • @therealz360z7

I have heard the man make the 911 call struggle to not lose his composure and it's absolutely heartbreaking.

  • @therealz360z7

It's amazing that someone with so much wealth and yet starved those children even in the most poverty stricken places in the world we see parents do everything possible to make sure there's a bowl of rice or beans for the kids !

  • @therealz360z7

Ok so we know what the very best case scenario for these two could be but being wealthy , first time offenders what is likely ? please don't say probation

  • @chelseaoconnor3261

Thank you so much for this Emily. I appreciate your coverage of delicate topics like this so much. As a mother, my tolerance for seeing any type of harm come to any child has dropped through the floor and sadly so much coverage around this sensationalizes what happened to these poor kids. I appreciate your kind, gentle, and thoughtful coverage and how one of your primary concerns is the safety and privacy of the victims. This answered questions for me in a way that I could handle emotionally.

  • @OnlyShadowkin

I came here from Swoop's channel. She spoke highly of you, and I was not disappointed by my visit.

  • @kuita317

Does Jodi have any kids? If so what happened to her children?

  • @amyoung101

Came from Swoop’s channel. She vouched for you, I’m an instant sub!

  • @pinkstephy

Please, please, please do more on this story!

  • @pinkstephy

This case is SO IMPORTANT on so many levels. As someone who was sent to a “ therapeutic boarding school” with Paris Hilton (who made a documentary about it and who Jodi herself
bragged as having treated)… I can add that because of the laws in Utah people and organizations are able to get away with a scary amount of child abuse… wealthy families from all over send their kids to Utah, Arizona in Idaho because of this… Jodi has such a hand in this abuse. Absolutely heartbreaking this is still going on

  • @pinkstephy

Please continue to cover this 🙏🏻 and thank you so much for this episode

  • @carmendoyle9786

The 8 passage still on utube

  • @susanpetersen4350

? Have you watched the documentary about this on Hulu?

  • @JudeNance

My mother killed my older sister and attempted to kill my youngest sister. She got away with it and even bragged about trying to kill others. Like Ruby, there was never any love ❤️

  • @JudeNance

My mother was diagnosed psychotic. I was beaten with fly swatters, 2×4 boards, etc

  • @jodavis650

The saddest part is that the poor boy blamed himself for being abused

  • @susanpetersen4350

Emily please listen to your heart when choosing subject matter. What makes this broadcast and community special is that you lead from your ❤

  • @ricjones6861

Excellent coverage Emily! Just subscribed to your channel… Could you verify the following information regarding Jody’s background: 1. Did Jody’s ex. husband initiate the divorce? 2. Did Jody’s ex. receive sole custody of their children? 3. Have Jody’s children disowned her? Thank you Emily!

  • @sharondraffin7857

It would not surprise me if Ruby kept the children from medical care so no one would notice what had and was happening.

  • @patriciamorgan2669

Emily, I'm not currently on whatsapp.

  • @yvazquez88

Girl… with all due respect… we are 10min in and you still have not began the story…why? What is the point of loosing your audience by going in circles 10min w/o starting? Why? Just a tip – a more organized start where sponsors are presented and you move into the said topic would be much more successful. Viewers will drop off after 5min of random ranting babe 😢 Good luck.

  • @sandradeleon3618

    Thank you 😊
    💕💕💕💕

  • @stellaallbright4750

How can this case be (potentially) a plea deal when countless other children may have suffered similar abuse encouraged on their YouTube channel? Or would that be tried separately?

  • @anitaelwell8434

You explained it very well. Thank you

  • @richardsnow2838

There is a concern that children living in affluent families are not being protected by law enforcement and DCFS because there is a tendency to believe that by appearances the children couldn’t possibly be abused. Blaming the child as spoiled, entitled and overindulged is common.
However, we know that children living in poverty are at a greater threat of being removed even when they are not experiencing abuse

  • @ianclark2665

'Food is a privilege,' words fail me.

  • @atmoms2

The Franke children have the same case as JAYCEE DUGARD V. USA, No. 13-17596 (9th Cir. 2016)

  • @deborahkizer4664

You got man was heartbroken having to describe what this little boy was going through at that moment heartbreaking

  • @deborahkizer4664

What is wrong with these women that want to kill their children and hurt their children I am heartbroken watching the news this morning and it has nothing to do with this case it's another one. When is it ever going to stop😢

  • @user-kp8do9bp8c

There are so much kids in behavioral camps for minors

  • @nbgilbert

I think Kevin has a terrible reputation as a professor. He’s abusive and nasty to his students. I don’t know why they keep him on as a professor. Other than he is Mormon, and it is a Mormon establishment and they protect their own. I think before we see kind of things about Kevin, we do more investigation.

    Thank you.

  • @anjeecampbell4528

Kevin is a whole problem too. 12:19
