@NyseHaywood
He plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter smh
@margaretmlekush523
I think you've read all the evidence correctly, astutely and are right on with this case. Moreover if any boyfriend happened upon his girlfriend in that condtiion he'd have dialed 911 at once never thinking someone might blame him—It could not be more evident he beat her —the only real question is why police don't care………Either jay has family on the force or in the DA's office or LeeAnn has an ugly record it's one or the other…….

Same … live and learn and now I’m just cold hearted .. u gotta earn and prove to be a part of my life ! ❤️
@gemmahayward9027
I just googled the result of the trial and am disgusted. Jay Tolson is vile scum and 4 days into his trial he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 56-80 months (4½-6½ years) with time served. Why on earth was that plea accepted?! He should have gotten the second degree murder he was initially charged on.
My heart goes out to LeeAnn's family who fought so hard to get justice ❤
@blues7160
Hey Stephanie, is there any update on this case? Thank you for your dedication for those who can’t speak for themselves any longer .

Way too much murder in N.C. ??? YEP. 1 thing I noticed when I moved here 27 yrs ago, they don’t “divorce, too much trouble,” they just kill the spouse. I have friends who are from N.C., born & bred. It seems like they are afraid of what the neighbors will think or that they’ll be taken off the life insurance policy as beneficiary, NOT KIDDING. So they kill the spouse instead. Look for the Black Widow, that’ll put a chill down your spine!
@ideenfee
„Hartleben“ means „hard life“ in german. I‘m sorry that her life had to end that way 😢
@lisamcfarland5751
I'm no cop, but that was a lot of blood on that bed! How could they not question this?!?!
@Sheila-G
Family used to be the ones that had to bring murder charges and find the culprit way back in history so maybe that can be precedent 😂 sad that people have to do their own investigation
@dennilister2428
What a bunch of egotistical meatheads those so called police are. Scary to think that that’s the best we can come up with to serve and protect and pay for.
@user-dx3cy5ew3f
Thank you for showing both sides of the case unlike many other true crime channels. I do like your outrage at evil. Says a lot about your character.
@theonlyvampirateable
"adult Pokemon cards" made me feel ridiculous cause I'm 31 with a Pokemon card collection 😂
@denisenorman3499
Such poor police work!!
@chitownangel16
Jay Tolson pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
@mjandt7087
I feel like the police department/court is making it take a long time because the family was adamant about the crime taking place. They had put in a lot of work just for someone in the system to notice or care because there was so much attention.
@daddysangeljetta
The incompetence already wtf would go to the scene and not do anything like it’s your job and Leanne deserves better not even finished and have a feeling they’re just going to keep not giving af
@heathercbc7287
Convenient too, that Bangor ME is less than 3 hours from the Canadian border!
@jettsetgirl
Its Funny Derrik often gets pushback for being a P.I ! Goes to show how essential some of these private investigators are in pushing a case Forward

One thing that really is little known but should be of interest any time some one diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver is that alcohol is not the only reason, although most think so. Another reason is a genetic condition named hemachromatosis. This condition can cause cirrhosis due to a buildup of iron in liver. Hemachromatosis is one of the most underdiagnosed diseases in the United States. Often called the "Celtic Curse" or the "Celtic Disease" it is more often found in people with Celtic ancestory. But can happen to anyone. The CDC's estimate that 1/250 Americans carry at least one marker for the disease.

My favorite snack, I feel same way, but I got hooked on chicken chips , and wouldn’t you know it’s like 9$ a bag
Thank goodness I don’t drink at all or smoke or shop, and I gave up my card night
So now I’m eating my chips and watching you
So really I’m saving money 😉

It is incredibly suspicious that the entire house was still messy, by all accounts – but EVERY speck of blood had been meticulously cleaned.
Who goes around a house ONLY cleaning up their partner’s blood from their “accident” but doesn’t bother to straighten up anything else? (Like dishes, trashcan, etc) – A GUILTY PERSON
@stephaniephouotrides2435
If she fell in the kitchen, how'd she wind up in the bath tub 🤔
@MsDaimz75
The U.S.A doesn't have police, they're more like individual, independent law enforcement contractors.
@lalushel2679
Some dogs are not defenseless, they are known to kill people especially their owners.
@lindc1070
Women need to be very careful who they let into their lives and especially homes. Sadly she didnt know this guy had violent tendencies. Pity the case wasnt handled better.
@kellidillon-leduc2611
Police work is a reflection of many things including experience and training. Values play a role. We must ask ourselves how the Kitty Hawk see and value females. My guess is they place a low value on women and made false assumptions about LeeAnn further dehumanizing and devaluing her. Shameful.
@anonymeg1859
This is just like the “unsolved” case of Melissa Platt.
@cindyshade3902
Four days after the start of John “Jay” Tolson’s second-degree murder trial in the July 2020 death of LeeAnn Fletcher, the two sides reached a plea agreement on Thursday, Aug. 31 that carries a sentence of 56-80 months for voluntary manslaughter. Given that the roughly three years Tolson has been in detention counts towards the sentence, the plea tacks on roughly another two to four years.
@user-cc4sy1mu8v
How could this possibly be an accident ? The guy who was kicked out was clearly the murderer.
@emilyprewitt5777
Why would jay even be in her house after being kicked out and his things being on the porch??
@kdgibbs0422
Whoot! Justice served. He plead down of course but at least he gets jail time. This entire island is celebrating!!!! We will have to make this the obx Independence Day and make it official! I vote for banks closed and all. Leanne’s day.❤
@cynthiaaldridge3423
Oh my, this is definitely something I’ve done and been burned so many times; but the last time was someone who I truly saw as a sister in Christ. It’s one thing for attitude being toward me, but when it got to a point where she was taking over about 2/3 of our house including my husband’s garage, giving no help in any way, and her lack of consideration and appreciation for anything…I had to ‘evict’ her. It killed me. I felt like I had given and given, had patience, bought groceries for 3 extra mouths…for more than 6 months…she had bought pizzas for two dinners and gave me $100. That’s it I finally realized the problem: to me, I was helping my sister and her son; obviously to her, I was nothing more than a roommate. That realization still hurts. I have no doubts that she doesn’t care one way or the other. I think she wanted to have an excuse to move in with her boyfriend, and she pushed me to giving it to her.
@sandrahensrud81
Can you do a deep dive on the murder of Dru Sjodin? Please!!!!!
@mhw4658
49:35 you're not wrong for the caution. I'm autistic and with that comes being overly naive and getting taken advantage of by narcissistic abusers. I could have easily been in her place. 💜 I'm so sorry she was harmed for being kind. It's never wrong to be kind. It's always wrong to be an abusive asshole.
@monicadickinson4228
She was a good friend growing up. She didn’t deserve this. Trail is starting

Moral of the story: stay with the father of your children and don't screw random men.

That 911 call is extremely SUS if you ask me…on so many levels! I have a tendency of writing way too much when I comment haha, but today I just want to say that! (Oh no here i go…) It really stood out to me, i kept going back to it in my head. His tone sounds insincere, very disingenuous, like hes not even truly concerned, and hes not even trying to fake concern! It also sounds rehearsed, which makes sense when we learn he waited so long before calling for help, and called a friend first! I feel like theres that air of 'rehearse' immensely in his speech, as if minutes before the call he quickly spoke aloud to himself exactly what he would say.
I'm very disappointed in law enforcement, I feel like even a rookie could take one look at that scene or even hear details of the situation from family members and be able to tell right away that this dude is a veteran in domestic violence and he beat her to death. No way did she slip and fall, bleed all over the place like that and just die, nope, didnt happen like that! I hope that someday her and her family get justice for this loving mother who had her life brutally taken from her!
The 911 operator should have sent along police right away citing domestic violence, possible homicide, just from hearing him speak. And please dont come for me with "everyone responds differently to shock, it was a traumatic experience", there is more to it than that, in my opinion, it is easy to be suspicious just hearing his voice. I'd rather be wrong and later say "ok i judged the situation a bit harshly i just sent police just in case" than be right and have no one take the situation in the direction it needed to go from the get-go. And im not placing blame on the 911 operator, i just mean, everyone really who was responding initially, the first doctors, the first officers, everyone and anyone truly who had involvement and/or was presented this case for whatever angle from the role they had, like i said, doctor, officer, investigator, etc., should have seen the suspicious and guilty involvement of dude and went in the direction of justice! Period!
