A meticulously planned dream island wedding turned into a nightmare for one South Carolina couple, as their happiest day turned into their worst nightmare when a young woman named Jamie Komorovsky crashed their wedding. The details of the case reveal how one person’s decisions can permanently alter the lives of innocent people in a single fatal moment. This tragic incident highlights the dangers of drinking and driving, as well as reckless behavior on the road.
The story of Eric and Samantha Hutchinson’s wedding day took a tragic turn when Jamie Komorovsky, who had been drinking excessively on the same island, crashed into their golf cart while driving at high speed. The impact of the crash resulted in the death of Samantha, severe injuries to Eric, and injuries to other family members in the golf cart. The aftermath of the incident has led to legal battles, emotional turmoil, and public outrage.
As a highly detailed crime investigator, the facts of this case reveal the devastating impact of impaired driving and reckless behavior on innocent individuals. Society’s responsibility to hold individuals accountable for their actions, especially when they result in fatalities, is crucial for justice to be served. This case serves as a sobering reminder of the tragic consequences that can arise from irresponsible decisions and the importance of preventing such incidents in the future through education, awareness, and enforcement of laws.

She is so disconnected …. Jamie is sad little girl she doesn’t even realize what’s she’s done
@brianne1547
Annie that was excellent coverage TY very interesting
@elainemorgan6205
If being a Hutchison was what she wanted her Mother should have respected that request. I cannot imagine her heartbreak but she is making things so very much worse for everyone. Cannot imagine all of their pain but it does not give a free pass to inflict more. Being from SC this story is so close and heartbreaking. Thank you for the coverage. This girl needs the max sentence. Entitled little brat. Likely not the first time driving in this condition.
@meganmccune7377
Seeing how that go fund me reached almost a million dollars now I can understand why her mom doesn’t want to acknowledge the marriage. Seems to me that greedy ass woman wants to receive that money.

I had to pause this half way through because I’m so aggravated. When Jamie is first introduced, – she’s spoken about in the same positive light that Sam was. Not having known this story prior to watching this, I assumed that she was a victim, alongside Sam in whatever crime would be revealed to have taken place. I paused the documentary, right at the point that this entitled brat is throwing a tantrum after being asked for a sobriety test. Coming to the comments, I see that her behaviour is only going to get worse.
Whenever you’ve spoken about a murder – you’ve always highlighted the victims positive contribution to this world, while equally highlighting the negative attributes or past behaviours of the murderers.
This case shouldn’t have been described differently.
Your intro’s/explanations of why you create these documentaries is wanting to give victims a voice…I sadly feel like you’ve described the victim and perpetrator on equal levels in this case.
This entitled brat took a life and irreparably destroyed countless lives.

When I was younger I did a lot of stupid things I crashed multiple times driving drunk, luckily alone, and then was involved in a drunk driving accident where I wasn't driving but shattered a knee and broke a hip. Drunk driving is one of the things I've done that I am most ashamed of. And I wish their was a way to convince people, especially the young drivers, about how stupid and avoidable this is.
@valerietaft657
This is very very tragic and my heart breaks for Eric and Sam's family. In CT I know cases where bartenders were held responsible for serving alcohol to
Customers that should have been cut off.
@xjyllx
The last name thing is absolutely awful, I hate that for Aric. This mother is clearly wanting this to be about her 💔

UPDATE : Published March 2, 2024, 1:46 a.m. ET Drunk driver’ Jamie Komoroski freed on bond, escorted out of jail by dad less than year after killing bride in wedding day crash
after her bond was posted at $150,000 earlier that day.
** A trial date has not yet been scheduled, according to the Charleston County court
@terisasam5604
Jamie should get life in prison with a chance for release only after she has completed a drug and alcohol rehab course. She should also be tested for a few years to insure her being sober when driving.
@chosengirl2000
Sam's mom is brutal. So much disrespect
@UrsulaZA
My father was a drunk driver. Thank goodness until this day, nothing ever happened where his drunkenness caused any issues for other people.
My mum and I used to fight with him driving drunk – he always saw it as us caring for him, but it’s difficult caring for an alcoholic that doesn’t even consider a possible mom and kid in a car.
Now it was a newly wed couple. Só sad.
@UrsulaZA
The wedding sounded absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, mesmerising and once in a lifetime fairytale-ish. This is so sad 😔
@JenayaTattan-Allen
I really want to know how this disgusting drunk driver is out on bond and the chargers against her as dated to this year is kinda like slap on the wrist considering she murdered someone as she planned the actions and done the action to get behind the wheel and them actions equalled to someone being murdered
@susanduggleby-beck345
Sam's mother is despicable. Sam would be so upset with her mom's actions.
@jetfryl9831
Weddings as such a joke unless you're rich. All that money wasted when you could have put all of it towards a new house to start your life
@otkli3368
Jamie is so disgusting. Such a typical high school bully who gets away with everything… I really hope she will spend the most beautiful years of youth in prison.
@chynacuff1604
Jamie should be sentenced to live without parole. Jamie should not be allowed to live any kind of life other then just breathing,,,, she is alive and that is it… she can be free and enjoy life when Sam can
@kimberlycampbelllmt2960
Super controlling mom. So heartbreaking for all involved. If were my kid, they pay the consequences. They would have a lot to think about while awaiting trial in jail!
@Demina420
Her mother is being a selfish greedy BIT@#…sorry not sorry and I hope she sees this comment
@Linda-oc2zh
Best coverage by far Annie TY! 2 prior speeding less than 10 over an one failure to use turn signal
@Linda-oc2zh
Her mother looks like shes had a hard life ( Jamies). Right know standing there she looks like shes in Walmart not on the court room her outfit!
@zoesandifer9925
There is a serious bad problem with alcoholism culture and drinking and driving in Charleston. It is extremely normalized.
@louiseshanks5104
Watching this story now and just found out she's been let out on a £150k bond!!
@oliviad5474
That boyfriend wants to hang up and break up with her. How could you even stand to listen o her, it's sickening.
@andreaarmstrong489
This reckless, selfish person has been released on bail now. Way more than she deserves already.
@brucetactic8846
Not being rude but seeing all these videos of people from US, committing crimes, lawyering up and getting away with crime…it feels like sometimes the American justice system is a middle finger to the essence of justice itself..
@meganlohmiller3650
Jamie was released from prison with an ankle monitor. Remember the judge said the trial has to be set by March, our legal system is so broken that she was sprung from prison with no court date set…
@P2thaR
Sam's mother comes off as just an awful human.
"Respect my daughter"…
Her daughter wanted to have a different last name. Continuing to refer to her as Miller is 100% an enormous slap in her daughter's face. She's disrespecting her daughter more than anyone reporting on it.
She's such a terrible person that she makes rational people defend the media…
@christyblaszak-nj4lb
Making bail today 😢
@lexijayyy_fx
It's so reckless for her to get in a car being so intoxicated. Walk, call an Uber, find a designated driver, or don't drink. It's infuriating to know my kid is 15 and starting to drive and those people are still being irresponsible.. it scares me.
@KittyDillion
They just let the B** out of jail, on a Hundred Fifty K bond. #bridekiller
@sylviatorres7043
Didn't hear one word of regret or remorse over taking the life of Sam from Jamie or her family. All she seems to care about is herself. She chose to drive intoxicated and in doing so took the life of a beautiful person and should pay the consequences for her actions. And Sam's mother, oh my goodness. Sam was officially married and therefore was no longer a "Miller". Period.
@aeliades1344
Dude has my bday.. aries. March23
@erikmolnar6585
In Spanish, with the double ll, it's pronounced El Guy Yo or something like that… it means The Rooster
@bryantcarson
Her father's big mouth got her "no bond"!!!! With that mafia comment
@jesclifford88
This is so sad 😢 imagine having such an overbearing mother that you decide to name your first son your maiden name because she wanted you to keep it so much 🤦🏼♀️ SHE took her husband name, the fact she’s not letting her daughter-even in death take her husband name is unforgivable! She seems like a bitter woman. I hope Jamie gets the longest sentence possible so she will actually be away from the public and maybe even grasp the seriousness of the devastation she caused. Her parents are something else!! Horrible story and the one I feel for the most is aric 💔 I hope he can heal ❤
@candacehandyside903
Seems to me Samantha’s mother hates Aric for surviving and is looking to take her wrath out on him. How insulting
@candacehandyside903
I’ve commented on this but I have to say that if I had done something so horrible that took someone’s life and injured people as well, then find out it was newlyweds and family would be devastating. I couldn’t carry on like this girl. My heart breaks for Aric and the families. This aloof girl Jamie doesn’t seem to give a shit that she killed a bride and injured people and ruined lives. I’m very sorry for the loss 😢😢
@zacmoor445
I'm a convicted felon. Years behind bars. Those that judge these calls must nit have any clue as to the mental state a person is in when all has been taken. You go into survival mode.
@LizS.0526
I would be so disappointed with my mom if she acted like that. Clearly her daughter loved that man and wanted his last name! And to start another gofund me page… clearly just worried about gaining something from the situation. Shame on her.
And if my child was the one who caused the accident they would deal with the consequences for sure.
@AnimeLexie
Just goes to show it's not about the crime, it's about how much money you can throw at it. People can be convicted of same crime in the same state with different sentences. Typical wealthy family. And that girl doesn't seem sorry at all.
@ashleypalmer3157
The driver’s behavior is disgusting. She clearly has no remorse whatsoever and thinks she did nothing wrong. Spoiled brat is what she is. Sams mother’s requests is also disgusting. Her daughter expressed her wishes about her last wether she made it to the ss office or not. She said her vows knew what she wanted her last name to be from that moment forward. Her mom sounds jealous and greedy. I think she’s angry that it was her daughter that died and wishes it was Eric instead… she’s allowed to feel however but to express it out in the open is wrong. Her daughter would not like what she’s doing. She should think about that. This is a tragedy for sure and tragedies always bring out the best and worst in people. This story is no different.
@user-es3cu5em9k
DUI cases for some reason are most infuriating for me. I guess that has to do with how random this is and that’s why no lenience on drunk drivers! They might not intent to kill but they pose danger on everybody around them and they should’ve thought better . So that brat may cry a river but she deserves prison for many years.
@Somebodysomewheresometime
No excuses for DUI
Why not just check your keys at the door like coats, take a breathalyzer at the key check, and if you fail, they call an Uber and keep your keys –
It’s honestly so weird there are bars- like you’re going to drive there.. alcohol is just evil
And why not Samantha Miller- Hutchinson? That’s what she would’ve wanted
