I am so glad the neighbor saw the little boy and got him some help. The parents need to be treated just like he was. That was so sad. My heart goes out to him. I hope he recovers fast. I just don't understand how parents can starve their child like that and beat him.

I mightve missed it, but I noticed the (love u momma) video shows a black fam. But all the suspects so far, are white. Are the 5 adopted kids black? Was that some convoluted excuse or sthin? No matter the "reason" this is deplorable!
Also, it aggrevates me to no end, that ppl who want to adopt and love children, but aren't allowed bcuz financial reasons n such have to jump thru so many hoops. As any candidate shld be thoroughly vetted. However, they can often be denied due to so many even tiny reasons. How are there so many adoptions allowed, that shldnt be? Imo, it appears to usually comes down to money. Having money does not equal being a good person/parent any more than being poor or struggling equates bad intension/parenting. There shld be check ins on reg basis until adulthood, at least.

I had a step mother who hated myself and my brothers but her boys could do no wrong. My dad however never treated my stepbrothers any different from any of us. This woman is eerily like my step mother.

Too many cases like this are happening nowadays!! How you can hurt your own children in such cruel abusive ways is disgraceful. A parent should always love, care, protect, provide and educate for their own child. Then the fact they choose to become foster parents is baffling when you hear how they end up treating these poor children. Where are the frequent checks by welfare to ensure all children are being looked after, supported and loved correctly and as they should be. The systems need to change and become very frequent checks by officials un such situations as this keeps on happening time and time again, but nothing seems to change or improve.
Also is so many cases I’ve seen like this where the children have been treated so terribly the parents tend to be religious, whether members of a church or more often than not part of a cult! Whatever they become severely brainwashed or their beliefs become far too strong, that their actions deserve the harshest punishments possible.
I apologise to many religious people who have beliefs and are normal living & caring parents and members of society, but in many cases like this religion has a lot to answer for in how many people end up becoming horrible abusers and how religion is the biggest cause of war in the world.
This why I never have and never will believe in any religion as it seems to be the route of all evil.

It is wild to me when abuse happens to ONE child, among many. Like logically when all the children are treated bad that makes sense. Harming one child is just nonsensical to me. I understand the scapegoat mentality but this is just crazy.

I wish i had known that what i was going through was enough to be taken out of my house. I resonate so much with that 17 year old. Coming home, wondering what fresh hell I will have to deal with today. Its terrible. I hate there are children going through so much, so young.

I believe the ones who came out seemingly unharmed physically came out harmed mentally…some children can instinctively manage their abuse by being the PEFECT child or son or daughter and mitigate the severity of the abuse…Ifi only do that then I will only get that punishment making sure they always do something teetering on "wrong" to not bring another kind of abuse which abuse thats leveled up for "perfect" children….

It looks like the first opportunity the public has to check on the welfare of children is public school. I don't think "home schooling" should be allowed unless the children are subject to constant visits by social workers or whomever can monitor the kids and make sure they are safe. Most or maybe all of these cases I have seen, the parents yank their kids out of public school so no authority figure has an opportunity to see how sick, bruised, tortured, and damaged these innocent kids are. Any decent parent would be happy to show how well they are treating their child and how smart their kids are. There has to be some way for society to prevent this from continuing to happen, this isn't some third world country that doesn't have the resources to monitor and save our precious kids. If you have to pay more for the social services then pay more, I'd rather see all my tax dollars going into protecting children and veterans than ANY other social programs.

I wonder how the boy got out of house? … no matter how he managed to sneak out, he must have been desperate and would have had to overcome the fears of knowing he will be severely punished if found. I am so thankful for the neighbors who obviously quickly realized there was an issue & called the police. It is chilling hearing that Krista was driving around looking for him. I believe as well that had he not gotten out that day he would not be alive right now. I hope the young boy gets counseling and a loving set of adoptive parents.
With the Turpin kids, even after they were saved from their parents they were further abused in other ways from the system – a string of failures as they were abused by the foster parents, didn’t have access to funds, couldn’t even have a bike etc. sick

My aunt and uncle were foster parents and they adopted most of there kids and they showed such love and respect and all of my cousins are still a part of our family. I feel so bad for these children.

Question – I’m wondering why the biological mother of the two boys who escaped didn’t report the abuse? It seems the oldest boy told her about the abuse he experienced in that house…

A child above 1 year old should weigh somewhere in the digits if a correlation of 2 to 10. So a 2 yr old 20+, 3 years, 30 lbs+ so on and so forth until about 10 then they may retain that size or grow in 5lb increments until puberty.

She offered him water and crackers oh my God was she trying to keep him hungry ? How about a sandwich and a granola bar and glass of milk or juice something to fill him up . Who gives water and crackers to a hungry kid?
