Delving into the Dark Depths of Letchworth Village: Uncovering the Chilling Truths of a Notorious Insane Asylum-turned-Infamous Crime Scene. @LisasEnchantedLife
I used to work in the medical records department of one of NY States Mental Instituitions back in the early 90s. My job was to purge the medical records that were old and to put current paper medical records into the new computer systems. The facility I worked at was one that received the former residents from Letchworth and Willowbrook after they were shutdown. Let me tell you…the horrors that I read in those medical records dating back to the early part of the 1900s still bother me today. As someone who struggles with mental health issues I am still very cautious about getting help because of my time working for NYS mental health institutions back then knowing the treatment people received.
