Honestly the circle k Google play thing seems like a inside job he knew the cashier and was being an accomplice. I'm willing to bet my life they were in cahoots with it. I'm from Phoenix and can tell you circle k hires nothing but criminals crack addicted people etc circle k is gonna go out of business because of this

The system is broken. This creep should have been locked up for a decade at least. Women should absolutely never hike or jog alone. No amount of self defense courses will help them. It doesn't matter if other people are on the trail. Stalkers will find an opening and attack. Just don't hike or jog alone.

You can’t still scratch off tickets because what happens is if you still scratch off tickets, the reported stolen and when you go to redeem them, they’re putting in the system that’s kind of the same way it says woo hoo you won $500, it’s flagged in the system and they were told to call the police and you’re arrested

Those cards have to be activated by the cashier otherwise you can't use them. He must have ordered the cashier to activate them all or something. This monster is an idiot and thank goodness he is otherwise he may never have been caught.

Sorry but I’m tired of people telling women we shouldn’t do things alone. I get where you’re coming from but this isn’t something having another pair of eyes can fix. I don’t know how changing our behavior is going to make things safer for us. It’s not (usually) other women murdering us, especially in these circumstances. There needs a more concerted effort for men to take accountability.

My guess on the Google Play gift cards is that there wasn't much else of value in the store. They're not going to keep more than maybe $100 in cash in the register at a time. Any large bills are immediately dropped into a safe that the employees can't access. So apart from any small bills or change in the register, there wouldn't be much cash in the place. But the google play cards, (which are usually activated at the register at the time of purchase), he could just force the worker to load up a bunch of those cards without giving him the money for them. The register would be short for however much money, but the google play cards would be activated and working. If he could get away with half a dozen cards, each with 200 bucks loaded on them…But yeah. Google play cards do seem like a stupid choice to me, though. It's not like you can go get cash from an ATM with them or something. They can only be used on apps, games and music on the Google play store. The theft of those seems a bit short-sighted.
