In 2013, the city of Milwaukee was plunged into a chilling enigma with the sudden disappearance of Kelly Dwyer, a vibrant 27-year-old. As our investigation delved into her final movements, a disturbing pattern emerged, pointing to a 38-year-old man named Chris Zako as the key figure in this puzzling case. Zako, known to law enforcement for drug and child offenses, was the last person believed to have seen Kelly before she vanished.

Despite not being formally charged in connection to Kelly’s disappearance, suspicions loomed over Zako, whom the victim’s family believed she had been romantically involved with for some time. Our focus shifted to obtaining crucial surveillance footage from Zako’s residence, particularly footage showing him handling a conspicuously large golf travel bag that was later suspected to contain Kelly’s remains.

Detective Eric O’Branson of the MPD presented footage from Zako’s apartment building garage, capturing the moment he transferred a bulky bag into the trunk of his vehicle. Prosecutors alleged that Zako had concealed Kelly’s body within the golf travel bag before disposing of it in a remote area of Jefferson County. As a seasoned crime investigator, it became imperative to connect the dots and uncover the truth behind Kelly Dwyer’s tragic fate.
