Car Jacking Cases | DOUBLE EPISODE | The FBI Files

A series of violent bank robberies and bombings terrorizes Spokane, Washington, linked to a suspected radical group known as the Phineas Priests. The FBI and local law enforcement are on high alert as the assailants continue to threaten further attacks. Through meticulous surveillance and investigative work, the authorities track the suspects to Sandpoint, Idaho, where they observe the group preparing for another robbery.

The suspects, identified as Robert Berry, Charles Barbie, Vern Merrill, and Brian Radigan, are heavily armed and dangerous. The FBI sets up a stakeout at a Union Gap gas station, successfully arresting Berry, Barbie, and Merrill. However, Radigan, a skilled sniper with military training, remains at large. With the help of his family, Radigan is lured into surrendering peacefully at a Washington state train station.

The suspects are found guilty on multiple counts related to the bombings and armed robberies, receiving life sentences for their crimes. The FBI emphasizes that they do not investigate individuals based on their beliefs but focus on the violent acts committed by these extremist groups. The successful apprehension and prosecution of the Phineas Priests send a clear message that domestic terrorism will not be tolerated.
