Christie Marceau: She Could Have Been Saved (Part 1)

Christie Marceau: A Tragic Timeline of Missed Opportunities and Fatal Mistakes (Part 1)

In the case of Christie Marceau, a bright young woman whose life was cut tragically short, the investigation reveals a series of grave errors and oversights that could have prevented her untimely demise. Marceau, just 18 years old at the time of her death, was a victim of domestic violence, a crime that often goes unnoticed until it’s too late. Despite repeated pleas for help and numerous warnings from those close to her, authorities failed to intervene in time, leaving a promising young life in ruins. This is the chilling story of a preventable tragedy, a story that begs the question: Could Christie Marceau have been saved?

This judge made me think instantly of a judge who saw in my country "partying" (I don't know how to translate the word he used, it was like an archaism of "joy") in the victim of a groupal rape. Sometimes I just don't understand. Luckily, that infuriating sentence was the trigger for a big change in my country's social awareness and laws.

I am in no way excusing akchet's (sp) behavior, by any measure. My heart really hurts for the pain n sadness that was wreaking havoc on him. I can see my kids in this kind of pain. This whole story is so heartbreaking on every level. 😢

  • @teodorasavoiu4664

This is such a silly tangent, but the fact that the guy read Capital and still thought himself to be "above" his colleagues at the meat shop tells me all I need to know about his cognitive and emotional abilities. What a piece of sh*t. And the level of entitlement this guy has over a person who was just being nice to him… Disgusting.

PS Capital isn't really about how capitalism is bad, it just explains how the system works. Pretty informative if it wasn't so f*ing dry. Worth a read.

  • @Lucy-ym8ch

What a loss to the world Christie is. She would have lived as a powerful force for good in the world.

  • @adoria5

OMG the Judge failed this beautiful young girls life-😢

  • @rachelbennett233

This is crazy lol. I’ve never heard this story and I live here!
Also, it’s pronounced orc-land. Like lord of the rings orc lol. Anyway I know I’m 2 years too late but there we go 😂

  • @ladonnaramirez4467

The letter itself was such a waving red flag! Such incompetence!

It is Friday, October 6, 2023. I was just beginning to watch this program when I decided to check my email, and as per usual, I get notified of breaking news from the New York Times, and much to my great joy and delight there was a story about a little nine-year-old girl named Charlotte Sena, who went missing from a campground I guess in the last week or so and the abductor drove by Charlotte‘s house and put a ransom note in the mailbox, but unbeknownst to him a state trooper was watching the house and went and retrieved the note in the mailbox, they ran a fingerprint analysis, and sure enough they got a hit and within a short period of time, they descended upon the abductors house, which was about 14 miles away and got the creep who took Charlotte and found Charlotte in a cabinet, and she was returned home. Isn’t that wonderful, glorious news! I don’t know if you will even get to read this, Stephanie, but I thought I would post it right here as I was fixing to watch this show. I know all the parents who read this will give a great sigh of relief, and are very happy for this little child to be returned home. Hallelujah and amen.

I come from New Zealand so I remember this case.
Look up Sophie Elliott, she was killed by her former boyfriend Clayton Weather stone in Dunedin where I live.
Also 2 other New Zealand famous cases from Dunedin.
    The Bain Family murders.
Also David Gray slaughtered random residents including the 1st. On the scene A Police Officer.
13 people died at his hands.
There are a couple of others in Dunedin. A Corrections officer who he was estranged from his wife. He got into his former home, shot his Children in their beds, then himself. The estranged wife had protection orders against him.
Which he breached many times with no punishment. The System failed these children.

2 children from St Leonards by
    their Father.

  • @Marlodrama

I love how she says “Auckland” like “Oakland”

  • @bpotgieter9998

I live in nz, our system is so broken. 😢

Tigers and lions are as dangerous as these men.

  • @Kyvaluv80_mouse

    I believe in karma !!

  • @sheenamaclean8324

How do yu get 'Oakland ' from 'Auckland'?

  • @familyof5728

This is devastating and beyond disturbing. The fact that a judge would find this "apology" letter valid is sickening but unfortunately, it's not very surprising. Women aren't taken seriously. We're deemed to be overly dramatic and exaggerating the seriousness of crimes like these. I've been gaslighted and undermined many times. It's so sad that my 10 year old daughter is still growing up in a world where cases like these are handled this way. She deserves better. We shouldn't have to wait until we've been irreparably harmed or killed before we're taken seriously.

  • @ThePacificQueen

Love your work Stephanie!! I'm from Auckland, New Zealand and am just getting started on this video. Can I please just let you know for future cases. It's pronounced "aw.klunh", not "oak-land". Keep up the amazing work.

  • @SLIPPINBLOOD

Capitalism IS the root of most evil tho

  • @Lisa-yv2hd

I would never be nice to a guy after listening to true crime. They arnt worth it. They don’t have the capacity to think about others

  • @Lisa-yv2hd

Oh wow you completely mispronounced the name of Auckland. It’s like – awkland

  • @origamipein18

(bangs head on desk in anger)

  • @ladyverena

This has been really hard to hear. Christie was born on the same day as my baby sister, 15 years before, and the way you described her personality was so much like my sister that it just… it hit home. Absolutely terrifying to think of my little sister being taken advantage of like this because she cares about people, especially underdogs.

  • @CaleighD123

I would've loved to be her friend. She seems so happy and kind.🩷

  • @HannahQureshi-id1px

25:04 This reminds me of a boy who was in one of my classes in high school. He didn’t really talk or hang out with anyone but eventually started casually talking to me. After a few weeks he started bringing me money for NO reason. He would just randomly hand me $20 bills and insist I take it. I would always refuse because it just felt so weird to me to take money for no reason….It was such a 🚩 but then he got even creepier… he figured out where my locker was and started sliding the money in the vents of my locker. I would also find him following and staring at me during class changes. I eventually took all the money (over $200) and went to one of my teachers who then reported him. There’s no telling what his intentions were but it still creeps me out to this day.

  • @anita6761

The judge should be ashamed of himself

  • @elizaandersen6545

My parents raised me with the belief that somebody that truly loves you, won’t threaten you with suicide. They were firm about manipulation tactics and how not to fall into them. You can be caring and supportive of a person, but there comes a point when it’s too much and some sort of professional help needs to step in.

  • @rachelann9362

God that initial forensic psychiatric nurse pisses me off. He was CLEARLY demonstrating the initial stages of scizophrenia. I yelled it at the screen before the story got even more detailed Did she even get a history from his family, teachers that previously knew him, workplace, neighbors, etc? It’s so GLARINGLY obvious. Obsession with communism? If you’re not religious, schizophrenic delusions focus on other concepts. And the later analysis..ln Between his family history, the actions that led him to the hospital.. how the FUCK did you not see the delusional nature of his thoughts and perceptions? Sure it didn’t sound like he was hallucinations or classic psychosis, but schizophrenia absolutely SHOULD have been considered from the get go. His actions and thoughts are TYPICAL of the initial stages (made even scarier by his entitlement, sexist views, and family dynamics.)

I hope he stays in a forensic psychiatric facility for the rest of his life.

  • @problematique9389

Just wanna say thank you for making the videos that just dissolve my anxiety. Something about you and your voice makes me feel safe and secure when I need to settle the heck down. 🫠

  • @TheRecoveringLiberal74

Men actually CAN get cervical cancer. Not saying this guy did, but males can actually have cervical cancer.

  • @morphsanmore2324

The video about the person starts at 6 mins the first 6 mins is just a commercial

  • @AndreaGarcia-rn8nm

You call him "delusional" right after explaining how a forensic nurse stated he was NOT psychotic. Delusional is a symptom of mental illness, not a word to describe negative behavior. – signed, a psychotic listener.

  • @vinnysob6380

So sad and preventable This is happening all over the U.S. now, thanks to woke, leftwing DAs, lawmakers, and judges. No cash bail is the new woke fad. Drug offenses are very different from violent offenses. It's a bad joke.

  • @jewelryboxballerina

This is why I'm not nice to or make myself known to socially awkward guys. They are easy to spot, at least to me. They radiant a strange energy and I can quickly pick up on it. I avoid them like the plague. They're such a turn off. I'm not mean to them, just indifferent. I keep a straight face, eyes forward moving along my merry way. Guys at work talk crap about me, calling me stuck up. Idc.

  • @Sassy-pants68

This judge should be fired and civilly sued by the family….. Judges need to have consequences

  • @plspriska

Im so sick of criminals not being prosecuted.

  • @RockBottom-180

I hate hate hate this man SO MUCH and I’m only around the halfway mark. Dreading what’s to come. 😢

  • @glenywitzel6958

this was why i was scared to leave my ex…its horrifying yet comforting hearing how many women are familiar with this deplorable type of man. they are so terrifyingly easy to come by and can lie and gaslight out of anything. remember you don't owe anybody anything!

  • @all_that_glitters1751

New Zealand is gods country. Such a beautiful place

  • @jenniferqualls5443

I like to see yall do this story on crime weekly to see Derricks reaction

  • @James-sq4sc

Cut these kinds of people off early. Stop being nice. Stop trying to save everyone. This guy is the prime example of a narcissistic, emotional leech. He thinks he’s a victim but he’s the complete opposite. Also, why does a man’s depression always seem to become a woman’s issue? And why are they so violent? When I get depressed I sleep a lot. Yet I keep hearing about depressed men wanting to rape and kill people to satisfy their depression.

  • @nicoleweiler1105

"Textercising" and "floordrobe"? I relate to this girl SO much
