Every time I hear some scumbag try to use their childhood trauma as an excuse to harm others it makes me furious. There are millions of people with childhood trauma who never harm or kill another human being or helpless animal. It’s a choice. Plain and simple.

  • @leeanngewinner8860

To my knowledge Amish do not believe in death penalty

  • @user-ol4ht2np8z

I am very happy with your way of thinking I think it is really a good way of thinking because they did what they did does not mean that they should be turned loose at all they deserve their punishment as well if they do not get punished they will do worse crimes later on

  • @asiaking7192

I like all ur videos!!! I forget to hit the like button sometimes tho.😊 thanks again

  • @laurahuff5566

Knowing the Amish community separates themselves and chose to not watch television because of the evils of the world, makes this so much sadder 😢 Their communities value religion and live for God. It just makes this case so heartbreaking 💔 RIP Linda 💔

  • @creative2716

God bless Linda Stoltzfus and all those who loved her. We are so very sorry for your loss.

  • @RogueMomma25

    Murder is a choice.

  • @dancesmokesmile344

I can feel bad for what someone went through in their childhood, but that won’t change anything about what I feel for you after you’ve committed these types of crimes. I had a bad childhood myself, but that just makes me want even more to make sure that other people don’t get hurt

  • @Rainbowofthefallen

Just commenting for the algorithm ❤️

  • @TNdreamin

I live not far from the Lancaster area and was horrified when this happened. Thank you for doing this case

  • @beckyjbarker

He is now serving 53.5 years minimum! He has to serve 17 years for a probation violation before he starts his 35.5 year minimum for her murder. Why can't we just execute him! Anyone who murders someone… maximum 2 years to appeal and flip the switch. Electrocution is the best way for these people!

  • @morgandavis5686

This case happened so close to me, thank you for covering it! It was a scary time for the Amish community in Pennsylvania and now the Amish girls don’t walk alone anymore

  • @ChristaChaos

I have a pretty long(ish ) criminal record but 98% of my charges are from hurting no one but myself because I choose to continue putting things into my body to get high- hurting no one but myself. Over the years we are VERY quick to learn how these useless cops will twist anyone's words just to close a case quickly. BUT it has always BLOWN my mind that these men Knowing damn well that they asked assaulted these women tell the police over and over that they do not know these women, they have never crossed paths with these women and there is absolutely no way there is any kind of evidence leading them to doing anything harmful to these women. Story after Story I hear these men deny all of this Knowing damn well their DNA is inside of these women. I mean obviously it's better for the families and the community and all of us that feel so terrible for these women taken away so soon but how f**** idiotic does someone have to be to deny over and over they do not know a woman that they know their DNA is inside. Absolutely disgusting, I swear it must be rocket science or something to these guys. As always steph, thank you for everything you do we love you out here!

  • @Kimmie546

Love Love LOVE seeing your natural curl! Cuteness overload! (I get it, I blow mine out too 99% of the time) 🥰 And your color coordination with your outfit/hair band and glasses is on point! RE: the case, that poor girl…she didn't deserve the horrific death she endured.

  • @hildyboo

Some men view anabaptist women ( ie Amish, Mennonite and Hutterite) through the lens of a sexual fantasy. They are fetishized, and the fact that their veil signifies submission is very appealing to a predator.

  • @Lost_AtSea_

So it’s a classic case of ( poor me ) so because I had a hard life, I’m going to take this out on innocent people. And what you said at 30:33 was really a sobering thought. There definitely is something wrong with our judicial system.

  • @alexissteely2437

I can't believe you did a coffee and crime time on something in my area!!! I lived in ronks and worked in gap when this happened. I remember how everyone joined together to search for her. it's so sad what happened. I'm glad they at least were able to properly put her to rest.

  • @kartikprasad4359

I used to live in Lancaster County. It’s always interesting to hear the familiar towns.

  • @sandrachilds1283

I've watched you and 2 others for a while. But the whole making coffee thing I cant stand. I could go back and watchng people putting on makeup and cooking 🍳 during podcasts.

  • @rubyflipper

I love seeing the coffee prep!!

  • @milagrosroman2882

Who said Justo is a whte male? He not!

  • @wolfrahmphosphoros5808

his DNA would be found on her stockings because he physically handled them. but of course sexual assault is a possibility; why else would a predator kidnap Somebody[?]. regards and happy new year.

  • @Violet-hj2fn

Hope this man rots. Sweet girl rest in peace

  • @Iambush78

They need to bring back firing squads for guys like this.

  • @MorganVsTheInternet

He was definitely prowling for young Amish women. Anyone who lives in an area with an Amish population knows Amish people don't carry cell phones, and most young Amish women don't have self-defense items like pepper spray or a taser. Amish areas are sparsely populated and have little to no CCTV.

  • @TraSea72

No matter what his childhood circumstances, we all have freedom to choose our actions and decision making in life. He chose evil.

  • @spencerc3

I had very close friends of the family that raised foster kids their whole marriage, and even adopted a few to add to their family. One day she was telling me about their experiences with all different kids that have come from good and bad backgrounds. She told me that it didn’t matter how young the child was when they experienced their trauma and abuse, and you could give them the best life possible from then on. But sometimes they never got over that trauma. That trauma would always follow them through life and they would struggle with it. Even if they didn’t necessarily remember it ever happening because they were so young. So maybe this happened in his case. From having a hard childhood when he was little then being troubled later in life. It doesn’t at all excuse what he did or his behavior but this case really reminded me of that story and how I’ve heard it to be proven time and time again.

  • @chrystalmoore2501

Why do people feel sorry for the bad guy and the life they could lead…..they don't deserve it! My opinion!

  • @sharonm.t.2492

Such details. I had to go back a few times so I could get it all straight in my ADD brain. Thank you for this video – very good. So sad for Linda & her family but so glad that even though this was an Amish area there were surveillance videos and thankfully cell phone evidence proved Smoker was in specific areas.

  • @MandiMomOf8Channel

I live in a small Amish town. Just like you said, they are the nicest, most peaceful, innocent people 💗

  • @traceyschuessler5381

    Love your hair ❤️❤️

  • @annasaddiction5129

Man these are 10 times creepier to listen to if it isn't bricht outside yet/anymore.

  • @James-sq4sc

Everyone seems to undermine women’s suffering. You give an offender leniency and let them out early, they reoffend. But as soon as you propose harsher punishment, people immediately claim we shouldn’t because it will only amplify violence against women. So which is it? What do we do here?

  • @BG-ig6fd

It should never be an “excuse” to let a criminal off, however it is an explanation. Abuse in childhood leads to damage to the brain, chemical imbalances, mental health problems and a higher risk for drug use. The consequence of this is that a small percentage of abused kids grow up to become violent. Psychology is still in the infantile stages. Hopefully in the future, we should have better understanding and treatments.

  • @marilynsears7611

If I can hazard a guess. Not only was she truly innocent but I’m betting she was a virgin. Sadly this kind of monster would seek out someone like her. It turns my stomach to think she got singled out because she was “a good girl”!the only comfort for her family is knowing that she was right with God. That old saying”may you already be in heaven before the devil learns your dead” applies here for sure !

  • @cavymomma

I see more of a correlation between 'bad behavior' and family making excuses for them (no accountability). (Laundries, Watts, Peterson, etc etc etc ad nauseum)
