I couldn’t imagine as a Mother, going through this. Also being treated so disgustingly by police ! This is so very for his Mum. I got pretty emotional listening ! The fact he was gay, no mater to me. Police should have done a shit load better, for this young man ! He mattered, God rest his soul 🇦🇺🙏🥺

Police officers who refuse to investigate a case thoroughly because they are homophobic and the victim was gay are committing a hate crime and should be charged as such. But who holds those police officers accountable? Usually, no one does.

I don't agree with the lifestyle but no one should have to go through what he did or his mom all because of how he chose to live his life. I also wonder if it was someone in his community he didn't want to do anything with and got mad or if it was someone that didn't like him for his lifestyle. It can be either way. I hope his mom gets answers and him back wether he is dead or alive.

My great grandpa is from Elmira, seems to be a decent area. Ayren would have been better off there instead of Austria, as far as lifestyle goes.

the fact that he wanted and dreamed to be a catholic priest despite his sexual orientation…like why the h not? We need more compassionate people. The Catholic religion already have enough bad rep for hidden sexual predators. Aeryn sounds like an amazing man. Sounds like the some of the detective were closet gays themselves…

Sorry I am late to the game. I have never heared of this case even though the UK is not that far from Austria. My heart goes out to Cathy/Kathy. Here is my two cents:
Here is what we know for FACT: Gunther(the owner/manager clearly didn’t like Aeryn, but why? I wish Kathy would have elborated. Any slur, no matter how slight may gives us a hint of insight of the dynamics of the customer/host relation in the Kaiser adenhause)
Very VERY powerful i fluential people frequented the place. I can GUARANTEE 100% that a priests were there too.
The only real credible witnessess only saw a man that could be described as Aeryn running up until a certain point but no cars or pedestrians reported seeing him anywhere near the canal or the bridge over it (the best possible entry point if he was to have jumped in).
My theory: Aeryn heared or saw something he wasn’t supposed to or someone was bullying him within the bathhouse.

If ever you needed an answer as to why we ‘need Pride Month’ and why we ‘need our own flag’, or why straight propel don’t have a ‘straight pride’ month, it’s because this treatment is not localised to Austria and it continues to this very day. Every single person that has marched at a Mardi Gras Parade has done it to shed light on inequality/inhumane treatment and to pull us out from under the rug where we have been swept and trodden on for too long. I want nothing more than to be treated as an equal, as a human.
The horrific treatment of LGBT people here in Australia (with an L) from the 1970’s has STILL to this day has never been acknowledged by those accountable. 30 cold cases in Sydney alone have still been untouched/throw away because they were all gay men loured and killed by police and citizen mobs, for simply existing.
I would love to appreciate, even for a moment, what it feels like to just exist and to be left alone and not constantly have to carry the weight of always ‘masking’, always being on alert in your surroundings, I want to hold my partners hand in public without having to conduct a complete surveillance of everyone around you and predict who may come around the next corner. I’d love to feel comfortable enough to know that when any of my chosen family go missing that they have a higher than 0% chance of being found alive… ❤
