Does parenting shape a person? Is his behavior due to the spoiled treatment? Or is a persons character ultimately inevitable no matter where they come from? If that makes sense lol

  • @iveliserojas612

poor mama's boy, killеd two girls with his own hands, but apparently being threatened with a gun is worth vomiting over🥺gross. we should've long time ago acknowledged that women will never be truly safe around their male partners. shit like that happens every day and i just can't help but feel completely devastated with everything knowing that.

  • @afroprince5262

I’m noticing a trend with boys/men who do things like this, it’s almost always a given that there’s an enabling mom .

  • @victoriabean5424

I’m so so sad for those two young girls. They were terrified and killed. Terrified.!!! And Xander’s father give me a break!!! Your son is a murderer and it’s probably some of your fault because you guys babied him and gave him everything that he wanted. He’s a spoiled rotten human being.

  • @MrKKmusic

    Great job, many thanks!

  • @michellevanheerden7148

Hi Stephanie. I'm from South Africa and I just want to say thank you for you exquisite work in researching this case and your Afrikaans pronunciation. This was a horrific case like many others Sadly. Please can do an episode on Allison Botha. Her perpetrators got released after 28 years this year in June and is out on the streets. Alison survived but her story is truly horrific and I believe needs to be told shared.

  • @user-lj1mf5ho4u

    KUDOS on the pronunciation!

  • @jaymac5346

I raised my children to respect themselves and others. To love their neighbor as they
love themselves and their family. And I always told my children that if they broke any law, I would turn them in and if proven guilty would not support them in any way. Might sound cruel. But, I now have two adult children who have happy families of their own. And they have been upstanding contributors to their local communities.

I hope he doesn't get out….he didn't kill them in a crazy jealous rage… like a typical 21yo… he killed quietly, pre planned and organised… he's killed before, or planned kills, this guy, has already formed his core skill, means for social, personal advancement… killing!! I think he was just showing everyone how good a killer he is… he'll study the mistakes he made here… and improve his craft… he WILL kill again. This was just a high school crush!!! no wedding ring… no investments to split you don't lose face… zero complications..in a HIGH SCHOOL break up!!!! his second cousin, he could have just tied up, covered her mouth..oh noooo… were supposed to be impressed by his kill skills.. he's showing what a big man this f..khead is. That is not!! what a man does… its anti male -ness. my opinion… blessed angels forever paradise ❤️❤️

What if Sharnel was still alive but unconscious when the matron first came upon the scene.

  • @JL-xg6ll

In South Africa a woman is killed every 4 hours 😔
Thank you for teaching me that Stephanie. The safety of women & children needs to be a priority, everywhere.

  • @vjs4539

Violence against women is also higher in the US among the African American community. For the same reason violence against women is high in South Africa. It's the race.

  • @RhinehartGirls

47:08 the number of parents who are struggling financially to benefit horrid entitled children is ridiculous. The second I think my girls aren't appreciating what they have & comparing to others they get a reality check. This young man never got one until he was told no & he reacted by murdering two sweet beautiful young women with bright futures.

  • @RhinehartGirls

46:58 & expected to do all that after his father was telling Marna's father that they wanted him to face justice 💔

  • @jariahymn3028

My family rented a house in Spain in 2018 from someone from South Africa and they used WattsApp(don’t know how it’s spelled), they asked if we had it to be able to communicate if there was anything(we didn’t have it cuz it’s not really used much at home)

  • @birch04z06

Your intro song gives me so much nostalgia 😩

  • @georgannwayne492

    I just love Stephanie 💜

  • @meraaiki6129

Life in South Africa is, sadly, only 25 years. Also, the judge has 2 assistants who attend the trial with the judge & assist with decisionmaking. But in the end, the judge finally decides.

  • @nattyrf511

As someone who has exceptionally respectful children that also hunt with their dad (girls included). Everyone is making issues of the guns. But he killed those precious girls with his bare hands.

Clearly. He was a narcissist. He also lived in a country that by the stats Stephanie shared has an extremely high rate of murderers against women.

The kid had control issue. Anger issues. Extreme narcissism. Someone should have noticed. His mommy should have been concerned. His father should have been present.

If everyone is concerned with the guns he didn't use to hurt these women, they miss the point.

On another note. My mother is a diagnosed narcissist. She too was raised a lot like Xander. Her parents barely had money but she owned things the wealthy children could not afford. To this day this 74 year old woman will do things like not eat "to punish" my siblings or father for not doing what she wants. These ppl do not change. They'll do anything to get what they want including hurt themselves or others.

  • @christiaancronje8090

    They hang murderers in Botswana

  • @finegirl4429

Such beautiful, happy girls with their whole lives ahead of them, just gone because of an insecure, very sick boy. So horrible and sad. Love and prayers to their loved ones.

  • @lexyshannon9428

Xander is such a pathetic human being. Imagine having no such sense of self that you depend on on another person to fill the void in your soul.

Feeling like he was wronged so badly by someone not allowing him to control and hold them hostage in a relationship with no say in what they want??

NOBODY has the right to OWN a person. Nobody is better enough than another person to be OWED their livelihood.

He just couldn't grow up and deal with the fact that she wasn't "his", and never would be. He was so full of hate from being rejected that he decided to kill the person he loved the most. He was obsessed and sick.

I hope he forever lives with that void in his life knowing that, in the end, she still wasn't "his". Killing as an act of revenge did not fix or satisfy that.

In the end, she still did not need him in order to live a happy and functional life. And that's something he couldn't kill if he tried. She will have always been stronger in the shorter time she had on this Earth than he ever will hope to be with whatever time he has left.

  • @beastshawnee

mama “I am not ashamed of my child.”
You created this mess. His father created this mess. You should both be ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! As well as ASHAMED OF HIM!
I don’t always blame the parents either but clearly spoiling him and encouraging sports hunting and dad being threatening and violent-You both should be in jail as well.

  • @r-l1214

Rejection is hard, especially at that tender age. But his behavior while they were together suggests he was likely to escalate to violence, regardless. 😢

  • @rouxannebredenkamp3872

im from south africa, i left in 2018.never heard of this case. so very sad

  • @user-gl1hz6ps3t

  • @aedansilva1114

Parents need to teach their sons to be less fragile …rejection is not the end of the world

  • @laellgreen

No excuse but I don't think any parent would want to see their child in an South African jail. It's not like the UK or the USA very very bad things happen to people. That kid is regretting every minute of his existence. Honestly it's hell on earth. He has probably lost control of his bowel movements let's just put it that way.

  • @jameshutcheson4910

South African prisons are really bad. Check out the numbers gang. Trigger warning for that research, for sure.

  • @IzzyOnTheMove

Never believe what a mother says about their son. My mother in law still insisted my ex-husband was not violent and had never been violent even after he tried to choke me 6 times (YES, it took me 6 times and 10 years to leave) and even after i had him committed to a mental hospital (he had Schizophrenia and refused medication), and he was threatening the staff in there to kill them. Never believe what a mother says about their son. They are either BLIND or IN DENIAL and they'll always think of him as the perfect angel who would never do anything bad. He also "worshipped me" at first and i was the love of his life. Until in his mind, i became the enemy. Different situations, but just saying. Never stay in an abusive relationship. i had the excuse of the mental illness, hoping it would get better when he would accept it and get treatment. He never did. And i won't stick around and risk being killed to find out if he does one day.

  • @mangojuice8038

Really, he is afraid for his safety, but he didn't care about taking two young womens life. This guys is a psychopathic narcissist, hope he never gets out.

  • @bentarbuck6161

does anyone else have a like mad appreciaton for law enforcement or PIs that can work on suspects, win them round and coax out information. most people would want to tear these peoples throats out. its like an art form

  • @jlou2001

Just discovered your channel today, this story is to sad 😢 and makes me so angry. I’m only half way through and praying to god that this worthless POS is rotting in jail for the rest of his life.

  • @ming0smeander507

spare the rod, spoil the child.

  • @topnotch01830

The 1 thing I disagree with Stephanie Harlowe is that she said it was such an "Extreme Scentence" – It wasn't extreme at all…2 life Sentences for 2 lives Stolen – it should have been the Death Penalty.

  • @tamaramixon6014

Just wondering but are the glasses you wear from the glasses USA because if they are I would not want them because you're constantly having to push them up on your face so are those the glasses you have or no?
