Opening Statement from the Defense in the case of FL v. Charles Adelson – analyzed by a seasoned criminal investigator with an attention to detail. The case involves the murder of Florida State University law professor Dan Markel, who was shot in his own driveway as part of a murder-for-hire plot. The prosecution believes that Adelson, the ex-brother-in-law of Markel, conspired to have him killed. The defense, however, contends that there is not enough evidence to prove Adelson’s involvement in the crime. As the trial unfolds, the investigator closely follows the testimony and evidence presented, searching for any inconsistencies or contradictions that may reveal the truth behind this chilling murder case.

    Crazy defense theory.

Watching parts of a trial and reading some of the evidence is good, but not the same as being a juror. Our system is based on jury verdicts not public elections. Thank goodness. UTube salesmen with the time to analyze these cases provide entertain, ent and some education but not equivalent to,a trial with a jury for a valid result. Our justice system is not a public election. We don’t want mob justice. An angry lynch mob going to,the jail to grab Charlie is not the answer or justice. Public trials are necessary but I’m wondering how beneficial these U Tube forums are …in the end. Emotional discourse and unfair criticism of attorneys and jurors engaged in a trial is Monday morning quarterbacking. Get into the arena and defend or prosecute if your an attorney don’t just publicly attack other attorneys doing their best to defend or prosecute in the courtroom. That’s my opinion.

  • @Live4birdies

That is a bad attourney. He’s way to intense.

Lol. Nm. It was on 1.5x speed.

  • @helenstewart4050

Sense there in no sense in nonsense 😳❗️✌🏻

  • @jellybean8261

I was waiting for you. I love your expertise mixed in with your wit and humor. Thank You for taking on the enormous responsibility. I think there are many of us waiting for the justice the Markel family deserves.. You have been there since the beginning. I am there with you! Thanks again.

  • @bbhere2002

Don’t know if Katie was the mastermind, I thought she was the conduit between Charlie and the killers

  • @janina873

I see rapid blinking and smirks

  • @dimechick

Thanks ML for your continued coverage on this case. I saw you earlier. Hands down the best deep dive true crime channel on YouTube 🩷

  • @bbhere2002

    The def tale is rediculous

  • @kristinaanderson4160

This is the most pathetic and sad opening statement

  • @dimechick

I hope the jury doesn’t believe this charade of a defense. They haven’t been following this case nor done a deep dive like those of us who know Charlie’s guilty. Dan deserves justice. The Adelson’s are guilty as sin. Prime example of a family of criminals who believe they can solve their problems with money and murder.

  • @kimbrent1971

Rashbaum must overdosed on Pepto Bismal if he believes someone is going to swallow this BS. TOTALLY BIZARRE OPENING!!!

  • @timmysargent6810

I knew you'd laugh at the defense! Love your .02 always..👍

  • @theplceforme

This was the most laughable ridiculous defence attempt ever. Charlie and Rashbaum made this up on the fly

So your gonna do a murder on the speculation you can extort somebody in the future with no guarantees

Anybody who knows anything about this case is probably still laughing at this desperate amateurish fairy tale

  • @ImSuperHaute

If the Adelsons are all innocent – why did they fight so hard not to testify!?

  • @kimbrent1971

Yes, Rash, we have had 9 years to learn and digest the facts as revealed by the prosecutor, LE, and Markel family. Rash, your defense is LAUGHABLE!

  • @Ferrucci_1666

You shouldn’t be judging the defense while this trial is going on. You are supposed to be an attorney with some level of ethics! Keep your opinion to yourself until the trial is over. It’s not fair to the defendant or the court.

  • @blueneptune825

    🧩Poor Rashbaum and his:
    puzzle pieces
    puzzle pieces
    puzzle pieces
His entire theory of the crime is a very puzzling piece.

  • @kimbrent1971

Will always support you. Thanks to Lady Bug too! The kinks will be work out. Thank you for spending your time and money to help bring justice to The Markel Family. KimB❤🎉

  • @barbaraannie5271

A lawyer and a dentist walk into a bar …. that's what comes to mind when I heard what they expect this jury to believe in the face of the evidence against him.
I can't believe he's not insinuating or pointing the finger at his mother or sister .
That would've made more sense . Maybe if and when he gets convicted. At some point it's going to occur to him. He's taking the wrap for all of it when his mother more than likely spearheaded the whole tragedy.

  • @toddpomerenke1926

Read this one: this is exactly like the drowning story in casey Anthony. It was a shocking story, prosecution never recovered

  • @Richard.Hybels

Can’t wait for Georgia to mock the hell out of the defense BS theory. She has a way of delivering zingers that is exquisite.

  • @mama66333

The jurors don’t know this case the way we do. I thought the defense’s argument could sound believable to the jury. I really hope I’m wrong and that it will sound as ridiculous to the jury as it does to us.

  • @toddpomerenke1926

Georgia now has to change her whole strategy she needs to disapprove extortion. Don’t forget my question or comment here thanks. Can you come back to it?

  • @toddpomerenke1926

Do you think it was a brilliant move? I do
