From 40 years of practice I perceived the lawyering in this case as the worst I've ever seen. It was appalling — on both sides.

Thank you Emily for sharing your convo with this interesting man ! We can all use more education in the Law and those who practice it for a living. It’s an endlessly fascinating subject. We live our lives in and around the Law and rarely realize its importance. Med Mal is a specialty which is interesting because most of us never encounter it – I spent several months working in this field doing depo transcription and report creation.. Mainly I got i grossed out by the Medical details! But today I’m glad to have the special skills under my belt. I then moved into transactional law. The contrast between civil and criminal law has informed my own views and I recommend everyone expand their knowledge of the law because life in this world is based upon laws and regulations – it’s better to be prepared and then enjoy knowing the people who have chosen the law as their profession. Every attorney I worked with had a hobby that surprised me: surfing, painting, exotic travel, music etc. and definitely not involving heavy logic. The balance is important for success.

What does “sustainable and earth friendly” mean? Same as “organic”? I’m looking for a meal source that is 100% ORGANIC.

Love the emphasis on keeping your hobbies. He was a delight to listen to. I appreciate his humbleness as well. As a musician and social worker, and crafter, I am a big fan of keeping your hobbies. It keeps you sane.
My single mom went to law school when I was 4-6th grade. Her fellow law students were so varied in their gifts and talents and I believe law school would have been interesting. But watching her as a new lawyer with the late hours and stress…i ended up getting a masters in Social Work. But having been raised around law, I really enjoy EB’s way of treating her listeners like intelligent people who just may not know about a certain kind of law. News treats listeners like 4th graders.
