My kids have gotten “mixed up” they skipped class, said a cuss word to a person messing with them, been bad on the bus, they’ve never killed anyone you don’t suddenly kill somebody because your mixed up or going thru something at the moment!! Taking another human life is much more than being mixed up!! I’ve had a family member brutally murdered (Tina Marie Starcher of Martinsburg WV) I’ve had ex friends commit a murder and neither of those instances occurred just because, if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life it’s there’s always always a reason behind someone’s actions! This boy had a reason for killing his innocent 10yr old cousin!! 😢 it’s such a sad story 2 young lives over! One is dead and one will hopefully never get released from jail!!

I actually went to school with Carson's father. I don't recall him ever having huge issues in school, but just goes to show you that you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Thankfully, he will be tried as an adult.

I’m a fairly new subscriber and this case is still in the courts! I can’t believe this family! I pray to God this never happens in my family but I know I would turn in one grandchild that killed another! I can’t imagine the horror Lilly went through especially at the hands of a cousin she loved and trusted! May Lilly get justice soon!

It may not have been a calculated decision to tell his sister about killing Lilly. Killers often feel the need to reveal secrets. I don’t think there is enough evidence to discern his motives on that.
I do think Carson needs to be charged as an adult.

Err on the "side of transparency," exactly, with a crime this heinous I am sure that town deserves to know exactly what is going on and whom to protect their children from. I am so sick of hearing about 14 year olds committing premeditated vicious adult crimes and being sent to Juvi. If you are capable of such sick violent crimes without remorse (just like Aiden Fucci), you SHOULD be in adult jail. Stop protecting criminals and start preserving decent human beings. Based on that grandmother's letter excusing her disgusting grandson's actions, the entire family's names should be known to the town to protect themselves from these deviants. Whatever happened to pitchforks and torches?
On another issue, if any lawyer out there still stands by the archaic rule to think you can get an untainted jury pools, good luck and keep showing what a luddite you are. Within 1 second the internet spreads all kinds of things about everyone on earth by anyone with access to a computer and no JUDGE has the jurisdiction to tell citizens they cannot exercise their first amend rights (oh, unless they are shouting "fire" in a theater). Maybe the lazy ABA (or some state bar association) should start considering the impact of the internet on jury pools because the horse is out of the barn!

Another horrible story involving child sexual abuse, is it my imagination or is SA becoming greater and greater? I always heard that inmates in prison usually first attack and r*pe men who are convicted as child SA. I presumed that was because those inmates were probably the subject of abuse during childhood and took revenge. I vaguely remember this case and still am shocked that a 14-year old boy is even capable of r*pe. As far as your question about why he would tell his sister, while it is possible that he r*ped her, I have a feeling he wanted to brag plus he felt compelled to tell someone. I grew up in a small redneck town with lots of wooded areas and trails and we used to ride or walk alone. Either we were unusually Blessed by God, or these types of crimes were not frequently occurring. Also, I think when I was growing up it felt like everyone in town was looking out for each other and especially children. BUT, small town USA is also ripe with rednecks and those who practice incest and other deviant behavior and probably cover for each other. See, there are some grownups who don't care if you tell them you were molested or worse as a kid because they think it is natural since something like that may have happened to them! I know my mother didn't give a crap when I told her years later both my brother and I were SA'd and who did it. I really hate those types of small town USA people! I would never in a million years move there, and my brother and I are very protective of any small children and could never imagine hurting them like this monster. He even looks like pure evil, that smirk.

I think he told his little sister, because he was so terrified by what he'd done. And it wa a so much easier for him to tell her, bring less threatening by a long shot.And he wa a able to get it off his chest without having to worry about pressure, and the immediate intimidation . He knew the gig was up, and he wanted to test it out on someone that wasn't going to throttle him or wring his neck.Because he does know how serious his actions were.Whether his little sister did or not. That poor poor little girl didn't know what she was up against.How could she, from her own cousin?? God this infuriates me to no end. She was so innocent, and helpless!!HE SHOULD ,have been with her to protect her!!!😢😢❤that's my feeling on this case.Holding her hand, and walking her home safely, like a young gentleman. ,with manners.

Sadly I don't believe there is any helping this boy. These ppl don't get better, they usually get worse. It would be hard to get worse than what he is already, but regardless, he's too dangerous to be in society ever again.
