Paul being all irritated and snapping at Miz 911 – yeah it might be a bit rude, but it's very understandable. What he actually says is "can you stop asking these questions and send an ambulance??". He doesn't sound annoyed at having to answer questions. He's upset that he's being asked about this crap (from his perspective) when they need an ambulance.

Obviously we all probably agree at this point that Alex Murdaugh is scum, no question. Maggie and Paul may not be.

Paul was really calm until he became distressed because he thought the help was being delayed. He actually gave details of what he was seeing – bleeding from ears is an important thing to know, the head injury, not being able to talk etc., and that he tried to hold her up but was told to turn her loose (don't know if he says who told him that) and she fell back down.

Heck of a lot more useful than his mother, for sure. Maggie's conversation and reactions on the call were very strange, to say the least.

That said, I AM giving the content of the call the side-eye, because of the ways things are said. Is she conscious or not. Oh, not really but yes, she's mumbling. She's not responding, Paul says she can't respond, but then he says she's mumbling. They both said she was mumbling, which caught my ear. She fell up the stairs. Her head is bleeding and blood coming from her right ear, but then Paul says she maybe she MIGHT have hit her head? Might, maybe, could have done… after some very specific detail.

That part – the mumbling part – that's interesting. I wonder if Alex told Maggie and Paul this, if he got there before the first responders. I can certainly imagine him controlling the situation and telling M and P what they need to say to make sure things are ok. They trusted him. I think Maggie left the phone call to go to speak to Alex. I think Paul arrived on the call, said what he said honestly, and then was told either that she was mumbling, or that he should say she was mumbling for legal reasons.

If he's lying to protect his friends, it's strategy. I don't believe he has friends. He has acquaintances, and he may even genuinely like many of them, so I suppose for all practical purposes he has friends. But if he's covering for people, it's to boost his own credibility or give him options in terms of having information on them.

  • @hazelangus

So, he's saying, "Oh sure, I agree I was not a bona fide insured seeking coverage, because I actually made up the facts I told you, and told Gloria's sons, in order to win".

He really does think this is normal.

  • @hazelangus

Horribly, the fact that he ran around Hamilton County saying it was all his fault that Gloria passed – it's something I've seen people do. It actually would have raised his image in the eyes of the community, not lowered it.

What a stand-up guy, they would think. Not only admitting he was responsible and telling everybody how devastated HE was about it, he was looking after her boys. Oh woe was him, if only he could have been there, blah blah blah. I bet he even cried.

Of course I don't know if he actually did that, to be fair. I've just seen similar from a dangerous person.

Love it when you discuss executive dysfunction. Love it the most. It's amazing how a task like putting the rubbish/trash out can be so hard. Initiate it, concentrate on it, already have the things organised that you needed to (like fresh bags), prioritise that task over anything else you're doing, keep focusing on it, not be distracted, remember what day it is…

    It's a lot.

Regarding the 911 call, it seems so weird they were so snarky with 911 operator cuz the idea I have of the south is like yes ma'am no sir and politeness, so it's kind of jarring. But the difference in class is probably more defined and treated differently there, is one explanation I think to myself. What I hear is yes, ppl can react strangely is crisis situations, and my parent is one of the worst, their brain short circuits and they want everything fully explained and even then argue with you. I usually end up sending them on an errand so I don't have to explain everything and rely on someone to just do what I say. But what I hear in this call sounds like people used to getting their way and not being questioned. Also maybe Maggie and Paul talking back and forth to each other is making things chaotic and making them snappish.

  • @origamikiddo2625

Thanks for breaking this all done. I love that I read/heard snarky in Alex's replies to the complaint(?) and having Emily confirm that I heard the amount of snark and sass I interpreted makes me feel like I got full marks on an exam.

  • @sheleg2196

Emily that sounds more like John Marvin than Paul ??

  • @HollyBird29

Yes, look at Snowden. He's stuck in another country because he let others know what was going on. I think every industry is like that.

  • @aksez2u

Gee, it's nice how "Boomer" has now become a general insult instead of a specific insult.

  • @DiGael1

Yes continue covering Murdaugh , love your channel dear

  • @Meatballs_Mayhem

Curious..Paul or Maggie said the injury was to the TOP of her head…as well as bleeding from her ear.But the top of her head?
That's weird to me Happy Birthday..Happy Mother's Day
    .Happy Everything, Emily.❤

  • @Meatballs_Mayhem

  • @lisalavender3818

Hopefully he will have to join the general public soon. Karma will come around soon.

  • @joannegrieco8523

EMS shouldn't take 20 minutes ìn life or death scenarios

  • @joannegrieco8523

Look, I gotta say that when you're upset sometimes you just want help to hurry up and you do get frustrated by all the questions because they're going to be asked again by the medics,Hospital and sometimes police and 911 operators are clearly stressed out because they aren't very empathetic to what is going on. I realize the Murdaughs are rude on the phone but I'm the person who gets upset and tells what's going on/happened and they yell at you to slow down too so it's like there's no right way to talk to them and a simple acknowledgment by 911 operators that they understand but sorry we have to go through this right now goes a long way in calming people and helping them not be defensive, it also doesn't take much time IMO

  • @joannegrieco8523

If they prevent the Satterfield boys from collecting the money or keeping it then all Alex would do is use it for his appeal and then they don't get anything nor does the Satterfield boys who deserve it

  • @joannegrieco8523

Alex is appealing so everything needs to be charged properly so he never gets out. The Satterfields shouldn't be punished and it's wrong that more people aren't protecting them in this chat. There shouldn't be a price high enough on a person's life and Nautilus checked and approved this so they shouldn't be punished for there perhaps mistake. Too little too late Nautilus
