He either killed or had Gloria killed …….. swallow that shame Alex.

  • @3vimages471

We know you killed them Alex.

  • @kellieevans2964

I honestly rewatch all things Murdaugh with your commentary and you do such a great job explaining it simple to a non law person and you make me laugh so much with the reactions to the f***ery!! Much love Kell from Australia 🇦🇺 🙏💙

  • @hazelangus

I quite like "serving a full cup of justice". It feels like another version of opening up a can of whoop ass.

  • @redisthecoolestcolour

I know forgiveness is for them and not him, but it bugs me that they told him. Because Alex is the kind of person who believes that forgiveness is absolution.

  • @hazelangus

Is he threatening Buster? I can imagine Buster being seriously humiliated by this. Like, Dad, DON'T FUCKING HELP ME.

Stay the course? Oh, he IS threatening Buster. Is it just me?

  • @hazelangus

He's going to take the admissions back. He could do that. He's saying that he's confessed to the financial crimes for many reasons but one is about them moving on. That's going to be something he could wallk back later if he wanted to.

Just like he didn't lie about the dogs but he did lie about the dogs, all altruistic and then taking it back and trying to drag the boys into court. Not that it would do him any good, but that doesn't matter to him.

  • @hazelangus

Jesus Christ. Who else, convicted of a brutal double homicide, would get ANY shackles or cuffs removed in court?

Wow, he really does flip it on and off, doesn't he? Clearing throat and that little "i tha-givee-ii" stuttery preparation. And, action! Sad Alex. We're Sad Alex now.

    "You want a hand free?"

Oh. Sad Alex, stand down. Yeah, sure it would help, but i can manage ok!

    — and after a brief pause for technical hitch, and action, Sad Alex with a side of Victim Alex, ok?

  • @hazelangus

Creighton Waters: I'd like to thank my agent, my manager….

  • @hazelangus

Of course Alex was going to speak. Even more so after Creighton spoke so admiringly of those who had spoken.

I'm not sure if AM was already intending to speak, he could have been, but Creighton is very clever, baiting him like that. Complimenting the lawyers the defence team dislikes, really laying it on.

Not that he shouldn't have been, just that Creighton was armed with the laser pointer and Alex pounced on it, and dud himself no favours at all.

  • @hazelangus

I think Alex might have been expecting somebody else after Mr Jenks. I don't know who though. Maybe it was just that Buster wasn't there. Something is off about that.

  • @hazelangus

You can see in the room as Creighton speaks – some people are quietly crying. Some people are shaking their heads thinking: I knew it was bad, but i didn't know how bad.

  • @AbbeyHNormal

My question out of all of this is: if he was using client money for everything, how did he only have $1M in his 401k?

  • @UKCrimeGirl

Omg me again! The way he says “next!” like a person who works a check out! No sincerity

  • @hfavaron91

Replay crew: Emily. I needed your yelling and commentary while Alex spoke.

  • @christinashort6707

This man and his audacity is endless. He has no shame and everything is always about him.

  • @oscodains

22 years doesn’t seem like a lot, but he would be 77. So even if somehow there’s a re-trial, it’s essentially a life sentence.

  • @remeiagullessimo1586

What type of apology is this?? Instead of asking for forgiveness, his speech focused on him and how sad he feels… WTF? How many times he repeated he cared about them?? Nonsense…

  • @rebekahcopeland500

Why is Murdaugh looking over documents like he hasn't already agreed to these facts? is it just to distract himself and an attempt to somehow deny the facts?

  • @baileymurphy788

Hahaha 32:10 "I'm sorry for all of you watching this later on 1.25 plus my 1.25"

Hi! It's me way after the fact lmao 😂

  • @izzystanleyfit6517

Wow I got chills when Ronnie Richter spoke about his clients not being victims, but being prey 😳 Hit hard

  • @annasartcorner

Replay crew, 2 weeks late due to life, but damn, this (alec speech) must be the longest, most abhorrent oscar acceptance speech i’ve ever heard. And Emily waving her arms at THE of it all is the most appropriate sing language translation ever 💜

  • @FlowerChild65

Judge Newman's comments during sentencing were apt. Slapped with a velvet glove is a great expression. You could tell he was so ready to be done with it all. The comment that he tried with him at sentencing, but essentially thinks he vacant inside was an accurate appraisal in my opinion. I'm glad he also noted the disparity between AM and the victims. That's what astonishes me about the whole thing. AM didn't NEED to do any of this. He wasn't doing it for survival. He had generational wealth and every opportunity. And yet, this is what he chose to do with it. I don't buy the drugs theory. He may have had a drug problem sure, but it doesn't account for all this. I wouldn't be surprised if some of it were offshore or literally buried as Bland suggested. I think he just did all of this because he could honestly.

  • @FlowerChild65

The Satterfield family and the other victims were more charitable and merciful to him than I would have been. It's a credit to them, that's for sure. I appreciate what Bamberg had to say, especially given the economics of the area. The Murdaughs are wealthy, but the general area is quite poor and there is the dynamic at play of poor citizens having to fund this rich man's trial. You also have the intersectionality of the racial dynamics. It's not discussed a lot, but it's not lost on me that some of the folks Alex was stealing from were also black. There is something to be said for just letting it end to spare these folks. I get that. But I feel much more Tinsley and Jenks coded about the whole thing. I am mad. Jenks gave him the dressing down he deserved quite honestly.

This statement was hard to sit through and listen to. At one point I had to take a break. I don't blame the lawyers for walking out. He made it all about himself and how he feels. He should have had the decency to keep it short and sweet, if he could not be genuine in apologizing. Of course, he was never going to keep silent. He never misses an opportunity. That whole section about Buster could have been said to Buster, as this was not the time or the place for it. The fact that he had to clap back at Bland by saying he and Maggie raised his children alone. This man could be a case study in what NPD looks like. He doesn't feel any remorse for having done this. Also, saying he loves and cares for these people after having done all this. It's just such an abusive thing to say. It's like a DV abuser who hits you and says they love you. It's just so disgusting to me.

(Sorry for the multiple comments. I'm just on replay crew sharing some comments as I watch, but I figure you probably don't mind because comments boost engagement anyways <3 )

  • @MiraCle0612

can you give us an update about the Britney trial? been a minute …😂

  • @FlowerChild65

My bad, I wrote my previous comment before Eric Bland spoke. He does cover this in his remarks. His statement was wonderfully done. Loved your reactions, Emily. You're right everything in his life was transactional. I cannot believe Poot had the audacity to object at such a moment. It just looks very crass to try and make a procedural objection during victim statements. It's so disrespectful to the victims. I think AM's lawyers have a small amount in common with AM in this respect. It comes across as so self-important at such the wrong time.

  • @FlowerChild65

Thanks for explaining about the judge and plea deals. I had some misunderstandings about how that worked that you cleared up and also some of the state vs. federal differences.

Also another factor re: the Satterfield case. One of the sons has also been characterized as disabled and a vulnerable adult. I don't know the exact nature of this, but his brother implied that he is someone who needs support with his day to day life. In my opinion, what he did to them is made all the more worse when you consider this. AM wasn't just stealing from people, his clients whom he had a duty of care to as their lawyer, he was stealing from the disabled and the vulnerable. To me, this makes his crimes all the more heinous. That's why I have no trouble believing he would kill his wife and child, because he systematically stole every dime from people in terrible circumstances with the full knowledge of their situation and not a care in the world. That's not normal behaviour. (Also, they only paid Gloria $10/hr despite all their wealth and knowing she was homeless at one time).

    Hot tea in Central California

  • @user-qw7ql5zx7k

The timeline of Paul and Alec driving around in two trucks is bogus imho. So many steps taken. Could it be that they walked the outskirts of the area around the kennel area. Where was that tree that fell over? They would not be walking two hundred steps each to see the various areas if they were supposedly driving around in two different trucks. Perhaps the guns were brought out from their hiding spots and "innocently put up against the feed room outer wall" for later use.
    Just a thought…

  • @charlottes.9495

Well, Shit. After the grace of Satterfield family speech and then the "dragon" scenario got me in my feels and now I have to fix my makeup! 😪

  • @charlottes.9495

I don't know how I feel about Poot, personality, but I have to give him props for the stuff he pulls out his behind, and he does look sharp today and I like the tie color. I say, "oh Poot" more in a day then I do my 4 kids when I watch/listen to him during these trials. lol

  • @SirSmorbie

The preferential treatment never ends. How many other double murderers would be allowed to be unshackled in court.

  • @lizpound2278

Question: How was he able to gain so much weight so quickly? Why does he look like he is on meth? He is flushing in a cycle and the twitching. Not at all like he was when he was on the stand or watching during the trial. I live on the NC/SC border. Thank you in advance for any thoughts from anybody. I do know Buster avoids his calls and does not visit. Also, neither Maggie or Paul have headstones. Just a marker.

  • @joanne.robert5576

Eric Bland needs a Law Nerd T-shirt 👏🏻👏🏻😂😂

  • @bridgetgee1659

Emily…a 6.5 hour long stream?! What am I about to get myself into??

  • @hala9175

Everytime I think he can't sink any lower. Just disgusting. I would walk out while he was still blathering.
"Do they teach (disbarred) lawyers to apologise? Because you suck at it!"

  • @vampgaia

I'm finally able to sit down and listen to this. OMG! The f-ckery! There needs to be a code beyond code red! Because we are there. How do you waste that many millions of dollars? Not to mention the lack of conscience or remorse. I"m not sure I could forgive as some of the victims have.

  • @sandygrogg1203

I kind of thunk ir IS the long game…Played by a couple of very good players.

  • @brienethefox853

Curious. Other than the Parker Law Group, what other law firms did the original law firm break up into?

  • @alissoftballlife2277

Wait… what did I miss??? When AM said “when I made up the story about the dogs.” What was that? Has something changed with that story? Not that I buy into that story at all but not sure if I’ve missed something that came out about GS death.

  • @emberflynngaming4695

I appreciate your anger for the victims during AM speech. His speech reeks of self importance.

  • @denia1594

The lawyer Eric seems to be so honestly disappointed in a fellow lawyer being able to misuse their clients this much. 😢

  • @DocTJB

I could not have watched this without you, Emily. It’s taken me days to get through it. I don’t know whether to sob or scream…

  • @cathywilson8768

    Balls of steel, this guy

  • @snail8436

"Buster, I'm so proud of how you have handled me killing the rest of our family" 🤯

  • @jooly_uk

When will Alex Murdaugh realise that sniffing and doing that weird thing with his mouth doesn't show genuine sadness and remorse.
