@Meinotchu
Ugh, late but it's an easy argument to make for cameras in the court room:
The Supreme Court has already ruled that we the people are allowed to record our public officials in the course of their duties. As both the Prosecutors, the Judge AND the court itself are public officials, we the media as representatives of the people, are allowed to place cameras in the court room which, in turn allows access for the rest of the public.
Also, as a reminder that the judge AND the prosecutors have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and denying the public access to the proceedings is them giving into fear of criticism, which in itself is a form of redress of grievience, and a violation that oath.
"Democracy dies in darkness", and allowing cameras in the court room is just a small way of trying to push back some of that darkness.
@ultimatelym
If I were innocent, I would want cameras to document how the system saved me or failed me, period.
@Samantha-ov1dx
Why are they so worried ab what the media will say ,the jury is making the final decision and aren't they not allowed media access during the trial ? It can't be that they are arguing no cameras for the respect of the witnesses .. they aren't paying them 🥸
@tigerlily102511
The public deserves to see this trial. Period. The defense is concerned about public opinion being swayed about their client BUT their client has already become Public Enemy #1 in the eyes of many people.
The term is innocent until proven guilty BUT that is in a court of law. The public is allowed to have an opinion if they want to. That does not mean the Bryan Kohberger will not receive a fair trial. It just means that the public doesn't like him.
Removing cameras from the courtroom isnt solving anything. If anything it will cause way more outrageous speculation about the case which actually hurts Kohberger and his public image.
If he is innocent, the facts will prove that. The truth will come out. However, if there are no cameras to prove such truths to the public, the public will continue to create outrageous and damaging speculation.

❤❤❤NEXT LEVEL APP. CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
@corasaari1021
It sounds like he’s already made up his mind. That’s unfortunate for me to see in a judge. His arguments seem personal instead of factual.
@willbracken1827
[brooklyn 99 meme] Ooh a self yeet! those are rare!
@allisonsawyer-br8js
I agree with you Emily on the camera position.
@Tired603
Please don’t promote diamonds Emily ,please
@zoltanpeter8420
This motion its non sens, just weaving time. If hes sooooo inocent, indiferent thet, it will be camera or not🙄( or what ever😉)
@Dawnkeller37
@Emily D Baker As a community member I will tell you now if there is no cameras allowed for sure both Moscow and Pullman will be in ragged. I agree no cameras will make this worse. This case has effected the entire town. Both towns. I am 37 been hear since I was 8. I have two daughters and have always felt safe and loved my little town. This case has effected our sense of security. We absolutely have the right to know and to be there however you are absolutely correct. That court room is so small not many community members will be able to make it in. I was gonna watch it cameras are there however I’d they ate banned I def will be trying as often ot much as I can to be in that court room.
@jeannemeadow7113
Actually watching a trial then reading most media makes you lose all faith. We have been mislead for years and years!!!! I know what I see and hear!
@leighbee1764
how to convince someone they didn't just see what they just saw. . . revisit that reviously seen thing after the case is done or after a few days of cross or more data has come in then tell the person to review critically. 99.8% of people apparently refuse to change their opinions but maybe this is the time that 99.8 turns into 99% of people. . .
@Christa10
Regular media does that too
@ann5028
I don’t have a lot of confidence in this judge’s opinion…somewhat concerning. Best case scenario has always been transparency. You cannot control anything either way like Emily said. Imagine if there were no cameras in Depp v Heard 🫣
@monkeymogul7505
Strange court room setup🤔 judge so far back in a corner, and the monitor is so far to the left, defense is so vlose and prosecution so far from screen?
@weewonk19
can someone help me understand why taking him to jail has taken so long? I'm actually curious, I would've thought it would be a done dead deal sending him to jail asap.
@stephcoker
Love the airplane transition! Awesome!
@shaniya_hope
1:32:21 smug Emily proud that she said what the judge is saying fills me with joy
@purpletabletarot9967
The vantage point in Depp v. Heard appeared fair and comprehensive – not just focusing on any one person's face. I will be soooo buuuuummmmmed if the Idaho trial is NOT televised. This is really the only case I'm interested in right now.
