Oooh, heres the thing about Emma Thompsons narrations, i listened to Turn of the Screw, and it was utterly unbearable. Any young character or more than one female character and she goes into a very shreiking voice. I almost never returned audible books, but i returned that one.

As someone who is very late to watching the replay, the talk about fairs was so nostalgic. I'm from Canada and was in Dairy 4-H and would show my calf at two local fairs. I don't miss the early show mornings – being at the fair grounds for 4:30am to wash my calf – but I miss local feel of it all. I live in a large city now and the closest fair is a two hour drive from here.

FYI – most schools now start in August now because the high schools have so many AP classes that tie in with college courses. The high school teachers want to stay on the same time frame with the college classes. So school districts have all levels start in August. But the districts do have to get a waiver from their state to be able to do that.

I’m a tort prof (in the UK) and the reasoning of the judge in B v B is genuinely outstanding. This case would likely have a different outcome in the UK- e.g accusing claimant of criminal activity would likely pass the serious harm threshold

Haha! Yep here in York PA it was always the first week of September which was when school started here. People hated that so they changed it last year to July, which people were pissed because it’s so hot in July here & also a lot of people are on vacation but they installed misters of water & it’s actually been ok. In my opinion at least. We did love skipping school as kids on Tuesday that week when kids are free day & wrist bands for rides were half off tho!!
