I wonder how many times Alex has made somebody sue somebody. This one was something he was caught doing (manipulating the sons to sue him and hire his buddy Fleming), but I wonder how many times he forced, encouraged, or manipulated, somebody to sue somebody, made a tidy little sum, and didn't get caught because his name wasn't on it.

Regarding the "opioid addiction spiralling out of control" and you pointing out that Dick and Jim have used this argument multiple times when it suited them…

You're right of course, but I'd argue that technically-speaking, addiction is – by definition – always out of control.

It's also fair to say that after any stressful event, it's very plausible that an addict's coping mechanism of 'choice' would be needed at a greater level than they were previously making use of in order to maintain whatever equilibrium they were maintaining. Therefore, it could truthfully be described as "spiralling" after any significant stressor.

Of course, an addiction spiralling out of control does not give anybody any kind of defence or rationale for being a gigantic fucking dipshit. Addiction is horrible. Opioid withdrawal is actual hell. None of this means anything in terms of trying to force somebody to sue somebody you have already victimised.

I don't think I've ever seen you quite so angry. Visibly angry, I should say. I don't blame you in the least – anybody who loves justice and prizes facts over fuckery would be furious.

Thank God for the Law Nerd app. You Tube unsubscribed me. WTF. Bad part, even if they garnish his prison commissary account, he can always have them put the money on someone else's account for a portion of the money to avoid making payment.

John Cena doesn't own his name! WWE gets a percent each time he's in a movie!

  • @susankapustka7055

2 months late with this comment– There was a lady named Joanie who worked (wrestling) under the name Chyna. She did not own this name and had to stop using it when things went bad. (Your arms are too short to box with God or Vince McMahon.). Something similar happened to Prince, and he started using that funny symbol for " Artist formerly known as Prince."

1:00:30 Before you even commented that you didn't think she took her practice seriously, I gave my husband a run down of your run down and told him I'd watched The Defendant do this from the beginning. Even then she came off as someone insincere about Wicca or other Pagan religions. While it's not mine, I don't throw stones, so to speak.

I’ve never commented before but I just wanted to say thank you Emily. I listen to you on my way to work in a steel mill every day and your episodes are a brightness in my daily life!

  • @roymundy4122

Emily ? I know Florida has a hearsay rule under the deceased.

So the sons can’t ask the mother. The only witness statement you have is murdaugh.

Could the sons argue murduagh was not a drug addict and or murder at the time so it is credible IE he was creditable when he had more motivation to be honest as reprcussions were possible disbarment

Now that he disbarred there is no motivation to do anything but now perjured himself to help his friends who I believe were the insurance people

  • @victoria139

The tiktok lawsuit while hilarious at times is outrageous cause you can’t use your religious freedom to infringe on the lives of others and this professor’s whole life has probably become about this and that’s just sad

  • @cececox6399

Cardi b ADMITTED she WAS a prostitute. And that she use it to drug and rob men. I don't understand why y'all are acting like she's innocent. 🤦‍♀️🤯🤷‍♀️🤣

    ugh the audacity 💜

  • @EmilyCarriker1

  • @whyamiheredlb

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of shameless shenanigans religious folk will try to get away with whist hiding behind religion. And they wonder why they are losing their congregations or should I say, cash cows.

  • @Eileen064

Apparently the beast was summoned even without mentioning her name. She is accusing you of swatting her!!! Please sue her 🙏💕💕💕💕

  • @draverx1

The psychic lawsuit bs has me beyond livid. Four amazing young people were brutally murdered. Instead of thinking about the families and how grief ridden they must be, she is using this as a means to make herself Internet famous. It is truly disgusting.

  • @PK-gw2rz

How does The Murdaugh family feel about how Alex is acting?…the behavior?… are they cheering him on or seem embarrassed?

  • @Texas_Painter

Are Mallory Beach’s family not going after Murdaugh for her death?…. They need to go after him for everything they possibly can IMO.

When you talk about corporate lawsuits being different from personal and when corporations fight, it doesn’t have the same effect on people as when individuals fight, I would want to add that it’s not always this simple.
I know a guy who used to be a lawyer for different corporations for more than a decade. The last lawsuit he was in was dragging for more than a year. He knew he was destined to loose it but his boss wanted him to continue since it meant that while the lawsuit is pending, they may choose not to pay the huge sum of money the were debating. At some point the guy found gross mistakes in what the other company was supposed to get the money for, so he started to get actually hopeful that he could even win money for his company. The whole shit actually got rather obvious: this guy’s company got scammed. The guy worked his ass off. By the way, his company owed several hundred thousand dollars to the other one. At the final trial session, the lawyer for the other company kind of conceded, such were the evidence. And when the judge was declaring their decision, they found the guy’s corporation in the wrong and still ordered them to pay all these tons of money. He was devastated. And his boss instead of thanking him for even delaying the payment for more than a year has hired an audit company to check whether he’s done a good enough job. That was the day he quit. He couldn’t stand spending so much time and effort into nothing and getting no thanks at the end. Later he found out that even the audit found no wrongs with his actions. Also, there were rumors that the judge got like a bribe in a five figure number. The guy quit law and is now trying to get a job in IT. Yeah, it’s not as hard as when you may end up loosing your house etc., but it’s not like lawyers of big corporations don’t feel anything 😢

Hi Emily! Your videos are what I mostly rely on to keep me awake on my 8 to 10 hours of weekly commute. Thank you for your amazing work!

  • @MusingsOfApathy

I assume the Hailley Paige contract was not in California, since non-compete clauses are not valid by law there, I believe.

  • @MusingsOfApathy

Is it horrible to say that if the Satterfield V Murdaugh case went to me as a juror, I would make sure that I not only gave them the full 5.5 million but treble damages on that.

  • @MusingsOfApathy

I feel like this is the result of a late night intellectual debate about legal arguments that could be made in the case while drunk that they went ahead and filed without sober minds saying WTF.

  • @samwisetinyhands900

I joined this channel back in the day when the Tati first came out. The K.J. Drama was bananas.
