I feel so bad for this defense attorney😂. They have a super important job making sure the cops don’t take advantage of people and do a thorough job but still, having to defend this maniac is just hard to see

  • @annakuc771

Oh my, I missed so much of your content due to the holiday and now I am finding out that you would be in Derbyshire! I am glad your passport has expired ;p because I will try to be on top of it and when the time comes I will be on alert that you are in my region ;p

  • @MsJanaMac

She needs to never get out !!!!

  • @MsJanaMac

I mean she did admit "I can't believe I left the head" 😳😳like wow

  • @MsJanaMac

I feel so sorry for her attorney! God love him!

  • @MsJanaMac

You gotta love her facial expressions!!!

  • @MislaidPages

I've been watching the live trial feed and SO missed your commentary. I completely understand and respect your reasons for not covering the trial – it was incredibly graphic. I totally could have used your insight though. Mostly just regarding some of the tactics of the defense. Like why the defense kept asking folks on the stand to confirm that the basement was in disarray. I'm curious why that might have been specifically important to the defense arguments.

  • @redfalconfox

I know the defense really had nothing, but he started turning into Darrell Brooks at one point. How could this thing the prosecution clearly laid out happen? He even says “it’s mind boggling” in the face of overwhelming evidence.

  • @kaeli1983

“He’s just doing his job. He’s doing a better job than Elaine.” 💀 Reason 100 why Emily is the best

  • @katego370

The defense attorney certainly embodied the sentiment "I'm TRYING, folks!"

  • @ashleyhamilton4076

In WI- there is a NGI case involving a nurse. (Google NGI Froedert trial WI) You can watch a clip I believe of the case. It’s such a different experience watching the two.

  • @zuzauramek9850

Her mimics in court tell all. Her smirk, small smile.

  • @paigeupchurch7306

Absolutely love that you cover these cases. I know it’s not your norm but I love how you respectfully cover sensitive topics.

  • @djswife2044

EMILY. YOU SHOULD HAVE AT THE END OF YOUR BUMPER A TICKING-time clock for verdict watch

  • @dawnijomo1799

I found this judge intriguing because he somehow manged to look both bored and on high alert at the same time 😂 I found that fascinating. I also liked how he explained his position and understanding of law without being condescending.

  • @beckysmadnessforcrafting1447

I would be upset if he apologize to me for showing evidence. This is a murder.l care They need to see all the evidence photos are evidence. They are adults they can handle it.

  • @Mjolnir200508

Is the judge Kyle McLachlan? Lol

  • @scurry_commander_alison2125

You can't even say dildo in an adult novelty store in Texas. This is so weird.

  • @LawNerd007

A hard case to cover even just with closing. Thank you EDB for presenting the case with class and kindness for his family.

  • @iceeaslan7597

I am absolutely gutted for Shad's mother. She found part of her son in a bucket and had her boyfriend call the police… just heart-wrenching. I hope and pray that she finds some peace 😢😢

  • @traciegrover7181

Way off on lyrics fot engine 9 song..not even close.

  • @gracenurse3365

I haven’t followed this trial – but sexually abusing a corpse is… WUT??

  • @gryffent

Hi Emily. I’m struggling to read her facial expressions. She didn’t seem sad but confused or angry the whole time I watched this today. I find it very hard to take her seriously since she’s decided that her name is Shabusiness. I understand that’s not her actual name. I did pause the replay and go and watch some of her interview with the police, that didn’t help her at all.

  • @weighingfall7390

Speculation of finger shake: I believe schabusiness if it was the day AJ was testifying was waving at him. I saw AJ acknowledge a greeting and returned a head gesture back at her when he was getting off the stand.

  • @KimiClark19

I am certainly no prude, but hearing the word “dildo” said out loud in court that many times is jarring.

  • @LBDesignsIIV

These closing arguments are boring! Somebody go and get Johnny Depp or Travis Rudolph’s attorneys.

???what is with her weird faces she is doing????

  • @tiger_3723

I'm not sure "No one knows what happened in that basement" really works as an argument in this case

  • @karine-v

Couldn’t make it yesterday evening, so replay crew FTW. I love those live court!

  • @itsaDean

    Hearing you say Derbyshire ¬¬

If you want to say it like a Brit, it's Darbyshuh. <3

  • @ginnyhillyer

I don’t think they will find her NGI. What is with all the defense cases not presenting any witnesses. Is this normal? It seems to happen so much lately.

  • @lorriepavcik5405

Emily thank you for covering this trial

  • @janephillips6031

I think he is tryjng to defend that because she searched about dahmer, it doesnt prove that she did so with the intent of carrying out something similar in the future.

  • @katjakomor1309

i love this judge. he is so transparent why he does what he does and what he is expecting. even thinking out loud. that helps understanding his decisions so much. and hes speaking loud and clear, even for my german ears. it´s a pleasure watching him judge.
the defense attourney had the worst job of his life i guess, she attacked him, she confessed, she ridicules him and herself in smiling, laghing, throwing finger guns… horrible. he had no chance to make anything of it than asking for a dozen mistrials… that he was of course denied.
i dont have any opinion about the DAs. easy case for them.
the most remarkable witness in this case imo was the witness telling about the horrible scene they found, the injuries, what it felt like to get there. he was fact driven yet very detailled.
i loved this case and i hope she gets a guilty verdict and no insanity. Her insane acting was ridiculous anyway. I didnt buy it at all. Edit: i just heard he wasnt the one she attacked… still he knew she attacks her defense out of the blue lol even worse to side at her side then imo. poor defense attourney, i agree, he deserves a huge good coffee and a cat on his lap after this trial.

  • @rexlace0nervobic

If she gets NGI due to brain damage due to voluntarily chronic/long term drug use, that'll mean anyone that's using drugs for a long time, doesn't have to take accountability for their actions, including murder.
That'll be a black day in law, imo. Shouldn't happen.

  • @clairea-richards1107

I'd hate anyone to look at my search history, foe the record I've never killed anyone or dismembered them, but I have search most serial killers

  • @FrolickingWithChelsea

Re: weed causing stunted brain development. Weed has been correlated with a diagnosis of schizophrenia as a young adult. A lot of medical experts in Canada wanted the minimum age for weed use to be 25, when our brains are finished developing.

But in that case, the defendant would be able to get a schizophrenia diagnosis, regardless of how the mental disorder was caused.

  • @carolinecatastrophe

Im from Newfoundland! The Dildo town is true. They have a sign, kinda like Hollywood but it is "Dildo"

  • @jasmindisney8787

Confused about them releasing the alternates when they have two more days of trial….

  • @rolans.2073

I didn't understand one frikin' word of closing arguments

  • @infojo101

He said 9.15 first time around?

  • @wend5678

Judge’s ties during this trial have been epic. Today’s tie colouring is giving Marvel vibes. 🙌🏻
