in my opinion, I feel like the driver should be held responsible what they did was not okay just leaving her. They didn’t kill her whether she got in the car with them or not. There is still a possibility that she would’ve died that night due to her blood alcohol levelwith them apparently having consensual sex with her I’m unsure where I stand with this point I know when I’m drunk if someone told me to say yes I would say yes so if they ask question and then I say yes that’s what you said because I’m drunk and a

  • @Dizobayish

Is there an update on this one?

  • @violetpaints

What happened to Maddy is heart breaking but the rape has nothing to do with her death. She died because she was so wasted she got hit by a car. It's sad to make this all about sex.

  • @robyndick5970

I remember when this happened. I'm from New Orleans and one of the girls who started the safe ride group is a close friend of mine. The girls were really determined to try and make a safe avenue to avoid this from happening again.

  • @minuteman8017

I think there should be an app for consent a thumb print and a 5 digit pin if you are too drunk to remember that then there can’t be consent.

  • @shelbygog8085

    She looked like Hillary Duff

  • @kaylamorris7381

Can young men consent if they're drinking?

  • @nizhonichica2005

She was drunk, they knew it took advantage. If they get off then women who "dressed" to be SA is ok.

  • @mac18930

Didn't you shy that at one time the driver looked back and she was slumped over.? Also when the former victim of one of the accused said he suggested relations with her four or five times and she turned him down and he did it anyway it was stated that the driver heard her being asked several times if she wanted to do things. I'm thinking one time one answer should have been enough. I hate to say I don't want to victim blame because I've been the drunk girl before many years ago and I'm done my share of stupid crap and it's not fair that she is gone, however I do feel that the four men Reggie's and her are all responsible to some degree. I'm sure that's probably a very unpopular opinion as a circumstances are so horrible praying for her family during this awful new life that they have . And I have to say I'm so impressed with the young ladies coming up with the Rideshare idea! And I hope it keeps up and I hope others do it in other college towns as well.

  • @Ron-yd3fn

People come on these boards and say that madison brooks parents are out for blood because their daughter willingly had sex and are embarrassed by that.they didnt and cant press charges against the accused. So you have to assume they have law enforcement a judge and a prosecuter in their back pocket.have you ever heard of the parents.neither of them are a mayor congressman governor or anybody of note.any thoughts on why all these on the prosecution side are willingto throw themselves on their own swords to protect madison brooks reputation.could it be these guys are actually guilty

  • @brandim9872

Seriously Annie I just got to the end where you were saying why would they video a consent and laugh about it I mean if you really stopped and took your emotion out of it and thought about it it’s very sensible because nowadays you have to have a consent or if they didn’t video it who’s gonna believe him She could easily say no I never consented and then they’re stuck right but it’s kind of embarrassing to have to ask somebody for consent on video so I can see why they’re kinda laughing about it because it’s embarrassing, but they also have to protect themselves from being in a situation where a female can turn around and have regrets the next day or a week from them and then say they attacked her and now they can say well no, we didn’t attack her. She agreed so that’s why people Have tovideo a lot of embarrassing situations so they’re their lives aren’t ruin

  • @brandim9872

Plus, Maddie ran after them they left. She ran after them. It’s not like they dragged her along with them and trying to say that she was fine. No she actually literally ran so if she can run she obviously is not so intoxicated that she can’t give consent, and that she has alcohol poisoning.

  • @brandim9872

I think Maddie was having a good time at the bar. She drank, which it seems like her body can handle a lot of alcohol, so I am taking that into that drink often and just because she wanted to have sex doesn’t make her a victim. It doesn’t make her anything and makes her human, sad part is she died that night because she was hit by a car it was an accident parents are grief stricken angry, and wants someone to be accountable so they’re pointing the finger at everyone. It’s a sad story because someone lost their life but I honestly don’t think they need to ruin other peoples lives and take away their life because of something Like sex and then she was older and adult trying to have sex with a minor so I mean if they really wanted to push back that statutory rate because believe me if it was the other way around with a girl being 17 and the boy being 18 or 20 or 21 they would definitely have him in jail But I think it’s different because he’s a juvenile black male and the adult was a white female and I really think that plays a big part in this tragedy that a mom and a dad wants someone to pay for the loss of their daughter really they want everyone to pay for it

  • @frenchmama1837

That's a no brainer, you don't take advantage of a girl/woman under the influence (or not under the influence). It's very clear cut.

  • @fourfurrypotatoes

I wonder if she was drugged too. I think she was also drugged they just didn't test for it, and no she did not give consent!! The defense is victim blaming.

  • @To_AT

Unless she was given more alcohol during that unfortunate ride… They took advantage of her and who knows maybe they recorded everything and that video is somewhere.

Condolences to Madi’s Family🕊️🤍 May she rest in peace.

  • @Ron-yd3fn

Hey i got a story.i was out last weekend at a bar
There was a bunch of young ladies drinking and having fun.by the end of the night some of the women and even the men were slurring and stumbling a bit.i think they had over imbibed. They made it home alive and unassaulted…….well i guess it isnt that much of a story.kaivon washington wasnt there!

  • @MrScubajsb

You can go out and have fun without getting drunk. Just a thought

  • @tinywalnut6337

The lack of personal responsibility here is astonishing.

  • @Ron-yd3fn

Sometimes i think the lawyer Ron Haley ,who has had his law license suspended before, goes through his rolodex and contacts his previous clients.look at some of these posts and the posters that seem to have a sleazy aspect to them.who wakes up in the morning and decides that they will go on a pubic forum to defend kaivon washington who has three sexual assault charges against him by the time he is 18

In his spare time he makes fun of young football players that drop dead.

  • @Ky-et5pu

Eh. If the races were reversed they would not be facing life. What they did was horrible but life in prison is a bit much. They should’ve made sure she was somewhere safe but they didn’t kill her.

  • @sandysmith-kf9ko

She was absolutely too drunk to consent and they all knew it. The 2 men should be charged with rape and the other 2 with conspiracy to commit rape (if that's a charge). Reggies should absolutely be held responsible for her death by being over served as other bars have been before. The 17 yr. old will rape again and possibly kill a young girl if he doesn't seek treatment or be forced into treatment, he is dangerous!

  • @Tahtiluv

It’s a shame what they are doing to these boys. No, they shouldn’t have had sex with her because she couldn’t consent, but they were all drunk. They tried to be nice and give her a ride home and she was too intoxicated to even tell them where it was. Hind sight is 20/20. No one could have anticipated her getting hit by a car. Why didn’t she call her friends, why didn’t she call an Uber in the first place, she wanted to be there

  • @user-tx8ty8hl6m

Whoever taped her consent obviously knew what they were about to do was wrong otherwise why tape only her consent? You can not consent when you're impaired period. And these attorneys are low life and shameful.

  • @andretillman5291

Video footage shows Brook was not a rape victim but a sexual active person let’s be honest Brook sadly was fatally hit by a car Brook should be held accountable and responsible!!!!!

  • @LesTalkForMenTv

This girl was not that drunk to not know what she was doing! She ran after these four guys and jumped in their car.

  • @catherineharris27

She was definitely a target that night. They took advantage of her knowing she was drunk. Buzzed. 😢

  • @catherineharris27

This is such an heartbreaking and horrible case. I can't imagine how Maddie felt that night. Just heartbreaking to hear what happened to her. She didn't deserve any of it. I hope the 4 guys they have arrested rots in hell! I hope the gangs in prison have some fun with them once they hear exactly what they did to this girl and they recorded it. Pure sickness!

  • @AdhdKarissa

As a previous bartended it would be on me and other bartenders to stop serving a patron if they came across to intoxicated and if they were to get into a car and drive, get into an accident or have anything happen, we’d be held accountable for over serving. So there should be many people being held accountable for this situation. So sad

  • @MaaikeCoats

Also accountability? There’s a reason the drinking age is 21 and there’s been discussion for a long time of raising even that to I want to say 25 it’s been a while since I’ve read about it- that being said- was she even 21?? Legal age?? No.. 18, 19, hell even 20 you’re still very much a Child!

  • @MaaikeCoats

Who says that the men in the car didn’t have more alcohol in their vehicle for one and for 2- yeah even if she drank more immediately before she left it’s not going to take effect for several minutes. You’re telling me they could see her every second at every inch of the bar and know 100% she couldn’t have had more to drink? Also how 1 person acts at that level of intoxication can be entirely different than another so… yeah

  • @richgriz6076

    The next few months are going to court filled for the accused;
Kaivon W. has a Motion hearing on 3/7/24: Casen C. has an arraignment on 3/4/24; and Desmond C. has a motion hearing on 4/9/24. All four (including E. Lee) of the defendants have court hearings on 4/23/24, and 2 on 4/25/24…..a contradictory, exception, and motion for summary judgement…civil proceedings spear headed by Madison's father and his legal team.

  • @amonone399

Yes, they took advantage of her while she was drunk. Madison had a drinking problem, that's obvious, and she paid the price for it. The least those creeps could have done was try to call a ride for her.

  • @eugeniapoole1344

Women should be able to get as drunk as they want without something like this happening to them. Mind you I control how much I have to drink out in public but everyone of those guys are responsible for what happened in my opinion
