I am a certified Genealogist. You're descriptions are spot on ! It is literally a process of elimination, as well as MANY deep dives to find information.

Thank you for all you do !!!!!

  • @harhelynBowlin

Like my Dad, he was murdered 21 years ago but still unsolved. I mean we knows who did it but no justice really. Mostly of them are dead now

On Ancestry DNA you have to go through a bunch of pages of allowing or not allowing them to use your DNA in science projects for example and you can also allow them to be used in databases that can be searched by law enforcement to match to DNA of unknown criminals/suspects. At least it was like that when I did the test in Germany.

If you've not heard what what the prosecutor said as she recounted what several victims had told her about Joseph DeAngelo, let me tell you, it's worth the Google search!!! The victims cheered as this was expressed in a court of law!!!

As for this case, it's so sad when you don't get to see justice carried out. I guess the family can take comfort in the fact that this slime didn't get to enjoy a very long life.

    Wahoo…found an episode I haven't listened to yet❤❤❤

I really like your true crime channel. Your deep dives are great and you really do the victims justice. There is no judgement. No obnoxious accents that is distracting just well versed storytelling. I had just about quit watching true crime until I came across this channel.

My grandparents raised me and even when it's expected, it is far from easy. Your heart never feels completely full anymore. I also bite around my nails and didn't even know it could get infected until last month when I happened to me! Thankfully just needed an antibiotic and that was it!

  • @jillwadkins9845

    Prayers your way Sweetie 🙏🙏♥️

  • @valerietaft657

I know you're completely in favor of Genetic DNA being used to solve crimes. And if this was the ONLY use for these samples, I would agree with you. However, the potential for these DNA databases to be exploited and misused for other endeavors is what terrifies the people.

We were told FISA warrants would never be granted so the FBI could spy on American citizens. We were ENSURED that safeguards were in place to guarantee no abuse of this system could occur. And yet, we now know that millions of Americans have been illegally spied on by the American government to degrees that make the East German, Cold War, Surveillance State look tame.

I'm sorry. The Government announced it wanted to collect DNA from all Americans to create massive databases of genetic files on people. Of course, the people rose up against such actions. So, instead, private corporations were created to … not only convince people to donate their genetic information to massive databases … but to also pay the company to accept their DNA. And now … the government is using these databases to solve crimes. Excellent public relations. Except … who has oversight? Because if it's the same people who claimed to hold oversight about the FISA warrants that were so dramatically abused and used against the American citizens … we KNOW our government … nor corporations … are beyond corruption and the flagrant abuse of such databases for nefarious purposes.

I get your perspective. I simply don't believe you're considering the potential future ramifications when such a time comes that the vast majority of Americans have their genetic codes mapped and stored. The potentials for abuses of such systems, especially in cases of viral weapons development. Or even something as simple as performing DNA checks (like background checks) and denying people jobs or services because of key genetic markers. Don't laugh. Never forget that the only reason we have seatbelt laws today is because we were PROMISED … our government SWORE … that nobody could ever be pulled over for not wearing their seatbelts. The ONLY WAY anybody could ever be fined for not wearing a seatbelt was if it was determined due to a vehicle accident or some other unrelated traffic violation. And over just a few decades … we all see how that has changed into a source of revenue for police departments with "Click it or Ticket" campaigns across the country.

If you allow an inch … our government will illegally and unapologetically steal a mile. And they will do anything they can to hide what they're doing from the people. There needs to be transparent, civilian oversight and reporting as to how every one of these databases is accessed, who's accessing them, and why.

    The potential abuses terrify me.

  • @amberbrady7112

There are ancestry websites that ask for your permission to share that info with law enforcement. I have accepted this on a couple off websites to allow my DNA to be shared with law enforcement. I'm a big fan of it if course I've also never committed any crime beyond a traffic offense so maybe that's why I don't mind.

  • @laurafortier9295

Wait, the guy was a convicted offender out on bail in her area…. How did they not look into him in the 80s?
