In June 2011, an otherwise ordinary night took a dark turn in Bloomington, resulting in a baffling True Crime case that continues to frustrate investigators to this day. The disappearance of Lauren Spearer was just one in a string of mysterious incidents involving young women in the area.
The Brown County prosecutor revealed a new theory in the Lauren Spearer case, suggesting a possible connection to the man convicted of killing IU student Hannah Wilson in 2015. It was noted that both young women had frequented Kilroy’s bar before vanishing without a trace.
Hannah Wilson, who went missing four years after Lauren, also met a tragic end. Her body was discovered in a remote location, brutally bludgeoned to death. The eerie similarities between the two cases raised questions about a potential link between the two murders.
Both victims were Indiana University students who had been drinking on the nights they disappeared. As the investigation delves deeper into the connections between these senseless deaths, the true extent of the darkness lurking in Bloomington begins to come to light.

I’m so so glad you brought up this story as I went to school at IU, graduated in 09, and when she disappeared it gave me chills and I joined in on the search for her as I believe her story didn’t get enough news coverage as it should’ve. Also, my own personal IU story, one night I was walking home after drinking downtown (Kilroys—which everyone goes to at IU) and a hooded man followed me through the campus wooded, dark, paths back to my doorstep. I got on the phone to my mom when I noticed he was following me and as soon as I hit the steps to my place where there was light, camera, and a code to get inside he stopped following and just stood there watching me in the dark by the trees as I entered inside. It was the scariest thing. That year there had been a 2 rapes on campus with women walking through the dark paths at night. I truly feel lucky nothing happened to me as this was definitely a predator. No matter what, always stay vigilant and be ready to go down fighting for your life-literally. RIP Lauren. Stay Vigilant Ladies.

Girls, if you go out drinking, never leave the bar/club alone. Always make sure you leave with friends & leave at the same time. If you leave with anyone make sure you tell everyone exactly where your going. If you meet a man and leave with him make sure you take a picture of him, act like you want to take a picture with him & send it to your friends/family, take a picture of his license plate too. Some people might think your paranoid but it’s always good to be cautious. If he has a problem with you taking pictures then DONT GO!!!!
