Idk how you think clearly in a situation like this… like what do you do ? In hindsight maybe they could have tried to stop him from using things from the kitchen (I say this b/c I’m not sure what is allowed on this platform) but how can anyone expect someone to react like that with a weapon in their face.

No one should say anything negative about that woman. She’s trying to save her children and no one knows what they’re going to do in such a situation. My heart goes out to her and the girl what a shame.

Incidentally, we had a family where majoy mental illness ravaged the members who suffered from the episodes of behaviors of the affected. One member disrobed and entered the police station where she was then hospitalized. The other family members could do nothing by themselves though. This was in the 1950's. At the time there were state sponsored mental health hospitals but the wait list was long. The family drained all assets to pay for treatment at private facilities and had nothing left to use. There is more of this than we realize and it's always shocking from the outside looking in, such as in this case. 3 little boys all gone at the hands of a very unstable father. Many consider it reprehensible and beyond any redemption. It is though one of the facets of mental disorder. When the mind goes, sometimes, all reason is lost. So sad. This dude may well end up being medicated and confined for the rest of his life. His days of freedom are over which may be a comfort to some. Nothing will bring those boys back. And that is the tragedy. They were innocent.

Mom had to know hubby/daddy was nutzoid long before this happened. Lots of questions. Mental illness is not understanable. And this was clearly some psychotic break, perhaps schizophrenia. Those who suffer often don't think anything is wrong or not bad enough to act on their own. And let's face it, getting mental health care is more than daunting as the connotation is very negative. From all accounts this man was in some hellish depth of mind for some time. If he's deemed unable to be tried due to mental illness we may never know any more about this case.

I can not imagine the horror that the mother and the tree children went through, what I want to know is why a father would commit such a horrible act towards his family. You can say it was premeditated I still wander why a father would commit such unthinkable act, to his own blood! There must be a reason other wise nothing will make sense. One dose not just kill for pleasure.

That mother must have been absolutely terrified for herself and her children. The last thing that went through those poor little boys' minds must have been beyond words in my own mind. The poor young girl ran on pure adrenalin to save her mama, and little baby brothers would have been beside herself with fright. I still ask myself why? What reason could he possibly use to justify this monstrous crime.

My god my heart just can’t take this one I’ve put off watching the details mostly but I finally decided to do so today n I fully support the mother she did the best she could atm between the shock n grief Jesus idk wht I’d do in tht situation as a mom myself I just can’t imagine what she went thru n is still going thru. This woman has my thoughts I don’t know how she will heal but I truly truly hope she can as much as possible ya know. Those beautiful babies won’t be forgotten. The sister also has my thoughts n heart. I wish them healing n love to surround them

I wanted to tell you my opinion on something…….I believe Chad chose to ask everyone to “take a nap with him” so he could keep those babies stuck in that room……tough to get out of there, he basically thought they’d be trapped in there. He also came home from work early. Wonder if he even went that day; I’m certain he had this planned down to a tee – what kills me is this was immediately after FATHER’S DAY 😢, and you KNOW those innocent children got him gifts, and Laura probably had a dinner or at least a cake. She seemed like that type of person. HOW COULD HE, ANNIE? 😭
