Sheriff reports 12-year-old killed while protecting sisters and mom from her ex

Hey, did you hear about the latest true crime case involving a 12-year-old boy named Carlos Fernandez? It’s heartbreaking. Carlos was described as smart, fun, and caring by his family. He loved playing video games, basketball, and spending time outside with his sisters and cousins. But tragically, his life was cut short when he was shot and killed by a man named Terry Brian Rivera.

What’s even more disturbing is that Rivera had been to Carlos’s apartment a few days before the tragic incident, causing a disturbance and brandishing a gun. Despite this, he wasn’t arrested at the time. Rivera is accused of calling Carlos’s mother, Ashley, from a blocked number after the shooting, confessing that he was responsible.

It’s heartbreaking to think about Carlos’s brave act of trying to protect his sisters from danger by running towards it. The sheriff is urging the public to come forward with any information about Rivera’s whereabouts. Rivera’s mother has also been charged with hindering his apprehension.
