In the ongoing investigation of the missing child case involving four-year-old Athena Brownfield from Oklahoma, it has become apparent that the parents or caretakers were completely unaware of her disappearance for days. This alarming revelation, coupled with the fact that those closest to her seem to be the prime suspects, has raised serious concerns about what truly happened to Athena.

One of the most concerning aspects of this case is the delayed reporting of Athena’s disappearance. It was actually her five-year-old sister who first raised the alarm, leading to the discovery that Athena had been missing since at least Friday, January 6, 2023. The adults initially provided incorrect information, with one even stating that Athena was three years old instead of four, indicating a lack of basic knowledge about the child they were supposed to be caring for.

The family dynamics surrounding Athena’s care are convoluted, with the children being in the custody of relatives, Alicia Galvan and Ivan Adams, who have now faced criminal charges related to the neglect and disappearance of the two sisters. The community response to the search for Athena has been overwhelming, with hundreds of volunteers joining law enforcement in the search efforts.

As the search continues and new details emerge, it is imperative to consider all possibilities in this case, including the tragic potential outcome of Athena’s murder. The discovery of evidence on Ivan Adams’ cell phone pointing towards his involvement in her death has shifted the focus of the investigation to a criminal angle.

The lack of accountability and silence from the adults responsible for Athena’s care is deeply troubling, raising questions about their complicity in her disappearance. Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, the community remains steadfast in their efforts to find Athena and seek justice for her. Share this information widely to help generate crucial tips and bring closure to the search for Athena.

Let me know in the comments if there is anything else you've heard about in this case that I may have missed in this video.

  • @samanthabennison8942

    Any updates about this case?

  • @faithhobson550

Did you update this case yet Annie?

  • @britmturner843

It’s a miracle Adina did not also go missing OR worse. A 5 year old cannot fend for themselves. What did these “caregivers” think would happen? Also, shame on the bio parents. They should also be charged. There was no court order, therefore no legal obligation to the girls on behalf of the caregivers.

What is the code to use for beam dream tea???

  • @ciarahord658

This is so so sad. I would do anything to have a little girl. Then people like this get pregnant so easily with them. It’s so frustrating to hear these stories. Those sweet babies deserved better

  • @erikameringer749

This is so sad! My youngest is 2 and she is such a character! I couldn’t imagine going a day without her! I get tired at times but I could never leave my babies EVER! Even when my mom had my son over Covid when I couldn’t work and homeschool I saw my son every single day!

Ivon Adams, one of the caretakers for Athena when she disappeared, allegedly beat her to death and buried her near their old house, according to court documents in the case against him.

Ivon Adams is facing one count of murder in the first degree and felony child neglect, according to online records for Caddo County, Oklahoma, District Court. And his wife, Alysia Adams, is facing two counts of felony child neglect, according to the charging document.

A not guilty plea has been entered on Alysia Adams’ behalf during a court hearing.

Authorities first discovered Athena was missing after her 5-year-old sister was seen by a mail carrier wandering unattended outside a home in the town of Cyril, Oklahoma.

On one hand you say her parents didn't know she was missing and in the next breath you say they had something to do with it

  • @sarahann4791

Will you do an update video for this case one day?

  • @scarletlightening9569

How the hell do they not know how old their baby is I have 5 kids all with 2 middle names I can even tell you the time they was born😅

  • @krissimmons9975

Because Ivan lied about giving the girls to the grandparents and police determined quickly that was not true, why wasn’t he held for 24 hours and interrogated? That’s not a little lie, that’s misleading authorities and obstruction of justice.

  • @gillesjacques1022

Why keep having more kids, if you can't even take care of the ones you already have, makes you wonder. They don't even know her age and if she has any problems of any type, c'mon, that shows you that they don't really care about them at all. My family was poor, but we had a place to live and food on the table and even toys at Christmas. My parents used to buy toys during the year and hide them away, at least I had something which was great.

9:04 Search Warrants are protocol – and even REQUIRED in many jurisdictions – in that kind of situation, EVEN if consent is given to "tear the place apart" by the owner/occupant. This is done like that so the DA/Prosecutor's office doesn't have to worry about losing VITAL evidence, particularly that used to obtain an arrest warrant and/or during a trial, based on a technicality or claim of revocation or improper consent by 3rd party – basically anything that could get evidence thrown out.
Whether or not you acted as if you didn't know this just for drama/hype/pushing your own assumptions and creating your own narrative, I can't say for sure, but MY assumption is the latter of the 3.
12:58 That was ridiculously judgmental and low. I could say something as below the belt and question your ability as a parent, but I'm not going to stoop to your level. 🙄🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

  • @charissaleroux6407

    U grew up alot🫶🏻😭

  • @justme-cr2zc

Autism…the answer; she may not have been identified/diagnosed with it at that age. My son is non-verbal autistic. It took a year and a half for all testing to be diagnosed as autistic. It isn't a straight up diagnosis because each individual on the autism spectrum is so different. If they are non-verbal they are generally first tested for any hearing/eyesight/hearing issues. It takes time…she may have been found to most likely be autistic but still being diagnosed. Her age put her right in the time that sometimes they aren't diagnosed.

  • @tiffaniwillison6517

Is there any more updates in this case by chance???? 🤔🤔

  • @msmichelle746

Amber alerts are for when kidnappers are known and there's knowledge of vehicle and location history.

  • @amandacooper297

Do you know that young children are hard to diagnose & if you happen to be poor, it takes so much longer to get help?

  • @missymorgan213

Hi Annie, my Husband and I are watching this episode right now on our television. We wanted to know if you have a bruise one your forehead. We watch you everyday and love how you cover these stories. We appreciate all of your hard work to get all of the info out there for each case. We love ya, girl! ❤

  • @domaniward1170

High functioning autism is not always diagnosed until they are in grade school.

  • @jayesimond9301

They kill a child and abandoned the other. Just evil.

  • @MrYukiyano

The Autism part might not have been known by the parents, specially given how Irresponsible they are. As an ER nurse, I have come across many very obviously autistic childre, whose parents are either clueless or in denial.

    Great case coverage as always.

  • @fnzypnts

My god. The update on how this little one doed is just so stomach churning. That poor baby.

  • @zxy78267

It's so sad to me that it seems like every family member in these two little girls' lives failed them miserably. I can't imagine being five years old and being abandoned, and not even knowing where my little sister is. The caregivers are trash human beings who seem to have resented having to care for these two little girls. I hope they find Athena and Adina is given a lot of help to cope. I hope she is placed with caring parents who will love her.
