Parents are strict for a reason to love and protect. You give a child a mile or an inch rope your asking for even more trouble. My parents was military strict I got belt with 100 holes for going to see my acquaintance at the end of the block and I kept telling them no I can’t well I did anyway and I got snitched on and I got the beating of my life and I never did that again I got switches from a tree as I got older I never caused my parents trouble. They never had to worry where I was if I left the house I told them where I was going and when I was coming back, I did not disrespect my parents. I was in the house before 2 AM even when I was over 18 years old of age never once in my life did I ever think about running away?. I was taking care of really well I had everything that I needed. If not more I got what most kids got both my parents worked hard. My father served in the Air Force and air National Guard nowadays children think they know everything and make their life hell all they need to do is stay home Go to college unfortunately don’t want that kind of life . Soft ass hard head.

I know this video is old, but my dad had a bunch of savings bonds with his & my name on them. He was the main person. I have to show his death certificate any time I try to cash one. If those got cashed, maybe someone at the bank knows something.

  • @sharris3624

Irregardless of all that, I really don't feel like that girl ran away.

  • @Mandy-nt2cs

Her mother blamed her trying to befriend other black humans as the cause for her demise ? But also blames the police for not caring bc she was black.. ugh. Either way, that little clip of her speaking on the steps let's me knee that she & her condescending manners are not a personality I would enjoy spending time with.

  • @alabama.worley

Jesus, this woman was literally projecting racism as the motivation and/or cause of her daughter's disappearance. She's sick.

  • @zulaikalondon

I hate this story, so much potential for tragedy. Hoping she’s alive and happy.

  • @erinstettner1

Anyone else think the parents are suspicious???

  • @DJAJ101

I'm sorry but when a guy says "she's dead now" to his gf how can he not be suspect #1 or questioned left and right by police? Phoenix's 2 boyfriends seem to be coving up something if you ask me. You can't have an hour convo with someone and not remember anything about it. I get why people would think she ran away and is living her own life now but those 2 guys throw up the most red flags of this whole investigation if you ask me.

  • @drosophilamelanogaster3121

I hope she is somewhere, happy and free

  • @TeresaMartino

I think that girl had a psychotic break and possibly committed S 🤔

  • @Desertmoonlight23

I had my son when I was 18 & never married his father. His father was present at his birth, but having left his house in a rush, forgot his ID. We weren’t allowed to list him as the father when filling in the info for our son’s birth certificate. Our kiddo had my last name until we were able to get it legally changed to his father’s by the state. Could be a possible explanation. But you’re right, we definitely were not married.

  • @ashleyaIBA

I live in the STL area and have never heard of this case! Phoenix would be 2 years younger than me. East STL is pretty bad, so is North County and I avoid the city if I can help it.

  • @SuperBotanica

If the theory is correct that she ran away and took on a different identity, I personally wouldn't go back to those parents either. she also traipses to church somewhere alone every sunday

  • @anniejones5806

I believe she was taken for all the people that blame her mother she did what she through was best. Phoenix could got a job move out and live her life , she was lazy disobedience and look what happened we need more parents like her mother she didn't want her to live her life with babies daddy in low income neighbors. Look at all the men with parents that don't care about their childrens they out there robbing, killing, stealing etc .

  • @UnchosenRatomaniaTheS8

That mother should be arrested for child abuse. What a piece of work.

  • @laj4186

Stop Right There 21:21 They didn't say "Enough" They couldn't afford it. "She didn't have a choice". If she had the maturity and wherewithal at 23 to live on her own then she would have, she did not and therefore moved back with the live shelter and support of her parents. The spin you're trying to put , isn't working.

  • @Edmqueen

I appreciate the mother's passion to find her child, but alienating the police isn' t the way to go. Hoping Phoenix is well and living her best life!!

  • @kittikat2318

I also don’t think her parents pulling her out of her apartment was NOT bc of money issues—it was most likely control issues. They realized she enjoyed her freedom & they didn’t like that one bit, so they brought her back to her sheltered existence. I would leave too.

  • @kittikat2318

I think Phoenix had a taste of freedom & didn’t want to go back to her “old life.” Her parents, while overly strict, are also CLEARLY in denial that ANY of her friends or the investigators on the Oxygen special, were ever speaking the truth. Every piece of info or evidence that anyone brought to them that showed Phoenix in a not-so-perfect light, they dismissed or flat out threw the person out the dang house! I really believe are was planning on running away w/ a boyfriend, friend, or other, that NO ONE knew of (or w/ her actual bf). When they failed to come pick her up, which is that short phone call, saying you ready? she then made her video talking about ppl not doing what they say & how she’s sick of it all. Maybe she thought her parents were sus of her plan which made her paranoid that someone was “after her” but I think she was worried her parents would send ppl to put her in an institution or boarding school against her will. They were SOOO overly strict, to the point of saying don’t be around ppl who are beneath her (which is judge mental as hell btw for church goers), that I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to keep eyes on her at all times & could possibly have her institutionalized just for that reason. I really do hope she’s out there, safe, happy, & doing what SHE wants & not what others want!!

  • @Desert_Marcupial

The tree standing as is with gifts just breaks my heart. 😢

  • @ronniehunt45

She went off on her own…..I guarantee this!!!! Her mother is overbearing!!!! Its a no brainer!!! She obviously took off and ran!!!! Thats why the bonds were gone and the birth certificates……duh!!! And it's really none of our business what her conversation with "Mike" was….she is a grown adult…..She had no choice..I hope she is happy and doing well….by the way this is Patsy Travis writing this….not Ronnie Hunt the name on here……But yes….I hope she is ok!!!…She is smart beautiful and has the world at her feet……

  • @__thelastpoet

Whats nuts is that basically a stolen car is more valuable to track than a missing person

  • @samanthakaydecker5073

    We pronounce UMSL as uhmsle

  • @amylin9695

    Maybe she was pregnant???

  • @katjaxxx7353

when you get controlled by a parent, even it's not bad intention, with time you get so irritated that you don't disclose anything, why she has 2 phones, why she said in her video she feels stupid she did something silly, secret boyfriends – very worrying.

  • @Roseredeemed

I’m thinking she might of gotten an abortion cause of the money she stole from her parents just a thought.

  • @kalholmes7822

New to your channel, great work. I've always thought the mother either killed her or knows more than she pretends to. I believe she knew about the 2nd phone, knew she had two birth certificates. Which she never stated , if they look into the mother's past I bet the dots will connect

  • @origamipein18

Goldia looks and sounds like a real nightmare. 🙁

Phoenix (wherever you are), I hope you're doing all right.

  • @anastasiabeaverhausen2996

Lawrence is the step-father he didn’t marry Phoenix’s mother until she was 7. Phoenix was well aware that she was adopted, I thought. Maybe she was considering going back to her old name.

  • @aggiewillett4112

I saw this case on Oxygen. I help my friend on YouTube with her channel and we also do true crime cases. I work a lot with Mediums. I had Phoenix read and from what I was shown Cell Phone Mike did indeed kill Phoenix that day she left her parents house. Her body is out in a wooded area. RIP Phoenix

  • @Tamara-ny2ey

Sadly to say I believe Phoenix has been trafficked her vehicle say it all. The position of the vehicle her phone that she was left behind.

  • @heatherhartzler8953

I'm just now coming across this story. I live in Independence, MO, and it's scary to hear that this was going on, because we didn't hear much of anything in the media.

  • @Sculptressing

Phoenix did not leave on her own and the Oxygen special was horrifically irresponsible in slanting the series in favor of this narrative OR the narrative that her mother was so overbearing that Phoenix just left her car on the side of the road and staged her disappearance. I'm in St Louis, it's a dangerous place. There is a reason her mother was protective. The police officer that found her car REFUSES TO COOPERATE and is being protected by his union. The comments here criticizing her mother- without researching ALL of the facts- are appalling.

  • @gerardinecizmar

This mother is too much. I was strict when my daughters were growing up but it seems this woman wanted just too much and may have driven Phoenix away. I hope she's okay and living a good life.

  • @lisamaria1972

I noticed the woods near where they found her car. Maybe she committed suicide back there. If both birth certificates are still in the safe she did not get another identity. I just watched the documentary on oxygen. I have to know why they didn't dig into the video more. She mentioned about going back and she mentioned COPS all around. Her friends said she talked about being followed. Maybe she witnessed a crime or did a crime and someone killed her because of it. Either way, I don't believe she is alive and hasn't been since Dec 18, 2011.

  • @ofeliasantoshistory

The more I think about this case, the more I think she did leave to start a new life. I hope she found herself and is now thriving and hasn’t found foul play. I really wish Phoenix is happy, successful and thriving.

  • @sharonm.t.2492

Stephanie, OT – Are your eyebrows microbladed? They are good. I'm thinking of doing it but scared they'll get screwed up or too dark, etc.

  • @sharonm.t.2492

I'm thinking she got too into drugs and couldn't come back. Her parents would probably verbally degrade her. I thought of pregnancy, too.

  • @paigerperry867

I LOVE your shirt in this video!

  • @candicane1

The chances of this young lady leaving on her own free will are slim to none. Let’s say, hypothetically, she did originally leave on her own accord. The chances are foul play did happen because it’s practically impossible to stay off the grid never to be heard from again in this age of social media. Phoenix didn’t have resources to be able to just disappear. Do you all know how much it would cost and the types of resources a person would need to literally just disappear? It seems like this young lady was definitely met with foul play. Also, since Phoenix was adopted by the father, I wonder if authorities spoke with her biological father or family to see if she tried to reach out to them. Another theory is that since she was juggling 2 guys and she was so distraught in those videos, she may have been pregnant. One of those Mike guys may be the culprit in her disappearance.
