Wonder what year, make and model of the 3rd car that they couldn't pull up was?

Hey Stephanie I love your videos and really appreciate all of the time and effort that you put into the cases. Something that you went over in this particular case reminded me of a personal experience. I was not raised with my siblings, we were all adopted out. I went to a family by myself when I was 2 and my youngest brother was 4. My 3 siblings were raised in Pennsylvania and I in Indiana. Through my own research I found my brothers and sister. I wrote my youngest brother a letter and received a letter in return. When I opened the letter, I couldn't believe my eyes. His handwriting was exactly like mine! What were the odds that two people associated only by DNA could have that in common! Genetics are so cool and then sometimes…not so much.

I just got interested in this case, and decided to check out your channel….I like how you provide so much information….I think I'm hooked….
@annestay5021
I get how Rusty felt when he heard “Rachel party of three”
I had a similar experience
@bbyjscx
I know speculation is not useful to anyone, but all the facts and evidence seems to point to Tommy, I believe he is definitely involved, the ides they ran away with a 9 year old in tow just before Christmas is so unbelievable and I believe Tommy and Deborah has a part in the letter too….
@loriEntropy
I wonder if Debra called Tommy thomas?
@HollerMa71
The term "human trafficking" only became common vernacular in the last decade or so. I heard the term "white slavery" for my entire life in reference to sex slaves/forced prostitution. I'm in Louisiana, so maybe it's a regional thing. 🤷
@byronpyles996
You commented on why would Prosecutors pursue counterfeiting charges against a dangerous criminal. Often older violent crimes are difficult to prosecute. Cases like counterfeiting may have more concrete evidence and generate federal charges and resources to ensure someone is put away. Remember they got Al Capone on tax evasion.
@summer-west
The pace of writing with pen/paper seems to be better in synch with reasoning. It's so easy to grab a word processor/computer and compose your thoughts at 80wpm… it turns into a disjoined conversation and brainstorming more than a constructed, planned, and optimized thought instead. The extra few seconds it takes to write is all the time your brain needs to tweak all that out for you.
@s.gabriellereidler440
I'm a black woman who went to a mostly all white high school. Spent the tiniest bit of time on. African slave history but I've always known white slavery to mean sex trafficking. But the day when mentioning a color to describe something won't always have race as a factor. If that makes sense.
@Wizzdome1
I am wondering if you had considered that this could have been some sort of a cult abduction?
@VAakitarescue
Have you heard of the unsolved 2005 murder of Shellie Carson in Virginia Beach, VA?
@lilmrnstr
My thoughts-
Tommy got married fast to Rachel in order to get the transmission business from Raymond.
Tommy just inherited from his parents dying but doesn't know where $150 and the will were that had been in the glove box? That's a lot of money to go missing and not know where it is especially in the 70's.
Raymond was terminally ill and had the transmission shop. Tommy got the business because he married Rachel.
Rachel and Deborah were probably very eager to get out of the parents house because of the abusive & possibly incestuous dad Raymond. That's why Deborah got engaged to Tommy and then became the roomie while Rachel actually married Tommy.
5 suspects:
1. Raymond Cotton Arnold, the abusive father because of possible incest & confirmed abuse.
2. The younger security guard seen by the cop/security guard Bill Hutchins. Or maybe it was two security guards or a guard and a buddy or could it have been both of them – the guard and the cop Bill? Remember 1 or 2 men in a truck with the girls? How many security guards were working that day? Could the cop/security guard Bill Hutchins have been the second man that the older woman said she saw forcing the girls into the truck?
3. Tommys first ex-wife/mom of his son & Tommy for money/transmission business?
4. Tommy & Deborah because of jealousy or money?
5. Raymond & Tommy because of abuse & possible incest by Raymond or jealousy of Tommy or weird dynamics of the two men and Rachel.
Another theory could be this is the 70's. Abortions were very dangerous at the time. Also, bad because of gossip. Maybe Rachel was pregnant either by Raymond or Tommy. She went to get an abortion and died as a result. The other 2 girls were killed because they knew about the abortion and that Rachel died.
Raymond and Tommy seem close since he got the transmission business.
I wonder if it was supposed to be Rachel and Deborah together at the mall that day? Maybe someone thought the 2 sisters were gonna be together and they were gonna abduct them but then when the other two were with Rachel the person still went forward with their plans.
@Tucker2love
Stephanie, White slavery is the term that was much more common in the early 70s but they didn't have the term human trafficking but i believe that's pretty much what it means.
@estelledossantos5661
I don't know if people in the States were very suspicious of strangers in 1974, but in a country I used to live in, people were not so suspicious in the past and there was this dreadful husband & wife couple. The wife used to lure unsuspecting school children for her husband's pleasure, and she apparently used to dress well and talk in a very kindly & believable way. Could it not be something kind of similar in this here case where a female partner was hanging around the parking area on the lookout for a young girl. Maybe she saw the 3 of them but wanted the youngest girl. So maybe she made up a story such as they had all been chosen for a Christmas prize and they should get in her car to go and collect it..!
Personally I think it was definitely an outsider lure with no family involvement. I think the PI guy should be taken with a pinch of salt. The poor brother believes the PI because he wants to believe his sister is alive. I think they were driven far away, probably at gunpoint, and all killed..! Very few long-missing people are still alive anywhere, this is just wishful thinking on the part of their loved ones..!😐
@danilelenicolele
The handwriting is so interesting to me, because my mother's, sister's, and my handwriting look so similar that I think the only people who would be able to copy my handwriting is them.
@MsDayPlanner
I did not see this coming, an inside job theory? Yikes! I binge watched some of your videos while making Thanksgiving dinner, but had to come back and watch this one again. Thanks Stephanie…Thank you also for another Native coupon. I stocked up and then came back to finish watching. 😊
@My-Redemption
In the Ramsey case I have come to the conclusion in my opinion her brother killed her not sure on prepose or what but the parents know that and instead of losing both kids they played a role and stuck to it for so long watched many videos about her brother and he just plays his part very well the dr phill one u could see cracks in it and I think had they did longer he could have got him to crumble and tell what really happened that night
@booknerdmomma0950
The fact that you're being akward or weird about using the wording white slavery is beyond stupid and childish. There were WHITE SLAVES as every other race in human history. The fact you're worried about being PC in 2023 instead of being smart enough to understand that when this event happened it was a completely different time and the wording "human trafficking" wasn't even used in mainstream media then. Good lord people. If you're going to make and watch a video about an older case then understand the time and vernacular that was part of their every day language. Also, stop using what YOU think being engaged means. Again it wasn't 2023 it was the 70s. Teens and young ppl got married young and yes even lioe today there are certain "types" generally lower class populations where they get into a relationship and talk about getting married. Young teens still do this. Kids in my children's HS get pregnant and engaged all the time. Why??? Bc their brains aren't fully formed at this age and they do things without thinking them through. Now we as adults with fully formed brains can see how ridiculous this is but again stop putting these ppl in your brain and in 2023. They aren't and don't think like we do now as adults. Good grief when my own daughter was 13 she had a crush on a boy at school and they talked about what it would be like if they grew up and got married. It's normal to have those feelings and day dream of the future. 😂😂😂 also grab your balls out of your purse and stop being so afraid of offending poc with words white slavery. It's beyond ridiculous and immature. Also, no one in the US is a slave so if you're offended by slavery go deal with it in Africa. Where it still happens!!!!!!!!
@user-qk5tv4zw1r
Interesting i was also thinking maybe human trafficking which might make sence that the mother got a call from the younger girl
@rancherbabe7137
My mother said in the 60s they always used the term white slavery & never heard anyone say human trafficking. She also said she has no idea what the phrase meant & never thought of it in any terms, other than the teens used it to scare each other at night on lonely roads.
@mamadukez55
then who killed jonbonet
@ElizabethDewey-si6sh
I don’t understand why the police thought they were runaways, 17, 14 and 9 are not going to runaway together that’s a huge age gap. They could go shopping together for an afternoon but they couldn’t spend any time together without them all having major problems and no 9 year old is leaving 2 days before Christmas and I’m pretty sure a 14 year old with a date wouldn’t go missing voluntarily so why do the police always say it’s a runaway and wait forever to start looking
@Morticia1313
This was a great 2 part video. I know this isn't about the Ramsey's but does anyone really believe that they didn't kill their daughter & stage the whole thing? They did a very poor job I might add but for some reason ( money?) they got away with it! The father is like OJ, still looking for the "real killer"
@lisolette1
“ White Slavery “ is the euphemism that used to be used for sex slavery , I don’t know why but that was the term I heard the whole time I was growing up
@justapanpirate
I’m a little over half way through and I don’t know if I maybe missed it, but why aren’t we talking about the beginning of the letter? Does “I’m going to catch it” just mean “I know I’ll get yelled at when I get back”? Was it a saying back then/something Rachel used to say? (I’m Swedish so I have no idea.) Or is it supposed to be a hint at something? And with the way it’s phrased (“We just had to get away”) my first thought wouldn’t be that they’re on some fun vacation but rather that something had happened. Why Houston of all places? Even if it likely isn’t written by Rachel, was Houston just randomly chosen or was there a connection there? (And as others have said, why the hell hasn’t DNA tests been done, or dusting for fingerprints? Unless that’s the DNA evidence they’re tight lipped about.)
@lifesquandered
Officer Ball dropped the ball.
@janetmiller2980
With regards to Rachel's handwriting, wasn't it determined Rachel was left handed, but a right handed person wrote the letter?
@janetmiller2980
Wasn't white slavery also a term used in the 1970s? Seems to me human trafficking is more of a recent term.
I'm enjoying your show, just not agreeing on all of your point.
@janetmiller2980
Nor am I having problems with men or women who "always want to be married". Marriage is financially beneficial as well as companionship and more faith for children.
@janetmiller2980
I don't accept the idea that it's strange for a man to remarry right away after widowhood or divorce. IIRC in Jewish tradition, a man is free to remarry at any time following either of these events.
A woman must wait at least three months to remarry in the event she's pregnant in order to avoid confusion as to the father's identity. I'm not sure if Islamic tradition places any restrictions on a man remarrying, either.
I don't accept the idea of delaying getting on with your life for months or years at a time, if ever. Makes me beyond mad when some "adult" offspring writes an advice columnist saying their widowed dad has taken up with someone else and appears to be quite happy, how can I stop them from marriage as this dishonors our mother's memory?
🤯. You entitlement minded turd, you can't. Common law marriage vows do not extend post mortem.
@sianbeecham2825
This is why I adore Stephanie, she bloody cares. ❤❤❤❤
@ferrarifred5502
Both of sisters and mom handwriting looks so similar. Im nine years younger than one sister, and 5y ounger than the other , and mine isnt similar.
@courtneyfrost915
For the term, 'White slavery'. If you are an older American, you have heard this term. It is synonymous with sex trafficking. Using the word 'sex' was looked down upon in the old days. It also differentiated historical slavery from modern slavery. So, if you said, 'White slavery', it meant current slavery where mostly women and children were being taken from their lives and being used for sex against their will.
@danabays1451
Not triggered. History is what it is. It’s not for us to change but for us to learn from.
@reganelizabeth149
My handwriting and my mom’s is near identical but my sister and brothers handwriting look nothing like mine.
@daisyglaze1817
I watched both parts but something that wasn't mentioned was the guy who worked someplace where Rachel had previously applied to. Apparently he pretended to be hiring so he could get information on women from their applications and he would make obscene phone calls to them. The police questioned him but dismissed him because he had moved shortly before Rachel got married. But I don't think that should rule him out. If he had women's info from applications and was creepy enough to make those calls he could've also been a stalker. He would've not only had a sample of Rachel's handwriting to forge the letter but also the address in which to send the letter to. If he had been stalking her for awhile he could've also found out her husband's name. But I also have a strong feeling that whoever abducted the girls first saw them at the Army Navy surplus store where Renee bought her jeans before heading to the mall. Just seems like an abductor would go there for "kidnapping supplies". I think whoever took the girls followed them to the mall and that's how they knew where the car was parked, since the girls apparently never made it back to their car. I don't think the letter was an old one Rachel had written to Tommy cause it says " 'WE' just had to get away'" and it mentions the car being in the Sears parking lot. It wouldn't make sense to leave him a note at home then take the car to Sears and leave it there. I also doubt the security guard/pickup truck stories were the same truck. The old woman saw some girl being forced into a truck earlier that day and the other witness saw girls with a security guard at night, laughing and looking relaxed. If they had been forced into the truck earlier in the day, why were they still in the truck, in the same parking lot that night? Especially looking relaxed. I doubt anyone would be happy being forced into a truck and kept there for 8 hours or so. The old lady's story would be more likely since it was during the day and a girl was being forced. The night security guard is doubtful cause I don't think the girls would just skip their plans and risk getting the youngest in trouble to hang out with the security guard so late at night. I'm thinking that had to be three other girls.
@GarnetDally
So, I guess Ross Geller was based on a real guy and that guy was Tommy 🙄
@scorpion_doll
MY SISTER AND I JUST HAD THIS CONVO THE OTHER DAY!! Our printed handwriting is almost exactly the same!! That is so freaky. Wow.
