Honestly, I feel like she was groomed by her adopted parents first. Thats probably why they didn't stop her from marrying her father.

  • @zenjen1295

I don't think it was her choice to have two more daughters. Abusive partners like that use pregnancy and children to control the other, especially when they fear loosing control.

  • @terriblevampire6422

Rob Kardashian slept with the winner of the Kim Kardashian contest on PURPOSE this shit is so odd

  • @mountainmamafun4826

Are your green jewels emeralds or peridot? I love emeralds, I’m a May baby. Hardly a baby. I’ll be 80 in May. Big fan of all your you tube channels. Love Harloween of course. So clever. Love your content and story telling style.

  • @parkerposey8155

Babies and children crying does not bother me. What bothers me is not knowing why they're crying. And when youngsters aren't making noise, all my senses become super acute. I don't have children of my own but I'm of the strong belief that every child is every adults responsibility. Period.

  • @parkerposey8155

Ew! Just the thought of being intimate with my step father makes my skin crawl. To close!!!! (And he's an successful, attractive and amazing person. A super catch). Incest much???? Can't imagine my bio father and I…Yuck! Why? Aren't there laws against this type of thing? I mean, I know beastiality is illegal. Incest and beastiality are neck in neck in nasty.

  • @___JT

    ?????? What’s in the water there 😭😭😭😭😭

  • @adamjonkie5601

    26:13 holy family resemblance!!!!😮😮😮

  • @__unwavering

I still cant believe that the adoptive parents were like "welp you cant help who you love." Any other set of adoptive parents would have probably stepped in by any means necessary, whether that's police or a shallow grave.

  • @maceyanna

Also your hair looks AMAZING in this. The muted blue and deep red look so good on you.

  • @maceyanna

There’s only a handful of true crime story tellers I WANT to listen to. I searched “Katie Pladl” on YT and found +100 videos. There was 4 total channels I actually like who made a video on it. I’m watching all 4.

The voice, the narration technique & dialogue, the energy and theme of the channel, all of it. It all matters.

  • @Natskygge

dude where are the responsible adults at?

  • @micahruthie

I somehow forgot that this ended in the murders by the end of the video 😵‍💫 I was so distracted by the other insanity…

  • @corinacoady2183

Again I cannot for the life of me understand why bonds are put in place. Bennett should have been left with Katie even though she messed up but I'm sure that monster Stephen probably groomed her

  • @TheScarletAlchemist

This case is so weird and fucked up that I wouldn't have been surprised if at the end of the video you said "you've been Punk'd." Or something similar that wouldn't get a copyright flag.

  • @MelTheLipstickDiva

Crazy I use to work with her 😢

  • @starlalunde4222

I think it’s really unfortunate that you said and think “why didn’t she stay with him?” Because she was groomed and abused. Like she said she had no one else come on. She was afraid of him, this is so fucked Stephanie. Women not having money isn’t the one valid reason not to leave an abusive relationship.

  • @sweetaudrina_

Have you ever heard of a pimp? Same scenario. You’re working for a man who’s abusing you. That’s why she stayed. Mental abuse.

  • @miafinnigan5277

    I think Bennett would be Katie's son/ half-brother (I can't even fathom that).

  • @amyisafoxfull3350

Don't listen to some of these comments Stephanie – we are absolutely 💯 entitled to be harsh on Alyssa. It is one thing to be a victim yourself, but there is NO excuse to allow your children to be continuously abused. Many abuse victims don't allow their children to fall victim to their abuser they do ANYTHING to keep them safe. Katy was failed by all the adults in her life.

  • @edith-gd8kv

ive watched like 20 random true crime videos like this over the past few days and like 7 of them were based in the Carolinas, which is where i live. IDK if its the Gen X in the water or the Alabama air drifting this way but i hear sooooo much BS coming from NC. Sad my state gotta do better

  • @Wizzdome1

This whole story has a Cult feeling to it. It reminds me of an episode of "Supernatural". It is so sad that stuff like this can happen. This is probably part of the reason why they used to do blood tests for marriage permissions, not to mention the kinds of birth defects that can spread from these sort of actions. But I still cant help but feel there is something deeper in this story. Wasn't the adopted daughter's father who also died a Correction's Officer? And he supported this type of action? This sounds so much like a cultish drama trying to bring forth the end of the world or something. (thanks for another brilliant coverage @Stephanie Harlowe)

  • @joleneliston9277

I’m adopted I met my dad at 23. There is no way I would ever. How in the world… gross

  • @TheScarletAlchemist

I keep returning to this video because it's just so bizarre, but then I remember that incest used to be very common, especially amongst those who are obsessed with bloodlines. I think the evolution of society is what prevents incest, but also this kind of shit has always been a thing amongst smaller (and probably abusive) communities. Sexual abuse amongst blood relatives still happens more than we will ever know, but the fact that no one intervened until it was too late is just baffling. As far as we know, none of the people who knew about their engagement were from areas/families where incest is common. This should've been stopped before Katie even connected with her biological parents.

  • @CuddleCatt

    Few things;
    1. I don't agree with incest.
    2. I also believed that two adults should be able to be together if all parties want to be together.(that not saying all couples should have babies, for many reasons could be why some couples/people shouldn't have children)
    3. If someone brain is fully developed they should know better. Studies have shows that humans/people brains keep developing till closer to 30 years old vs 18.
    4. This is one reason why I feel like we all need to be blood tested at birth for who the parents are as well as screen for really bad Genetic Diseases. Then again when u want to marry someone or have the blood work checked. Like when 2 people who aren't related that are carries of some Diseases the babies they will have are more likely to have vs if only one parent having it. It will also stop people marring their family when one or both have been adopted out and didn't know they was family.

The biggest reason I feel like we should do blood testing with every newborn is, we all know who the mommy is, but we take a word of one person who the father is. As a FAB (female at birth, am nonbinary) my baby daddy who am no longer with has never believed me that our daughters are his. I wish I pray that this was or could be true. But I know he is the only one that could be the father of my twin girls. This hurt me like no one could believe. I cant get a DNA test now but I wish I could but I can't. As much as I wish he wasn't the father he is I know. But every baby was tested at birth no one could ever lie or disown anyone. That is my personal belief.

  • @olivialewis5925

39:39 I wonder how the attorney was able to make this statement without throwing up 🤮 in his mouth! Do you hear what you are saying? 🤦🏼‍♀️

  • @thegoodhousewife7886

Stephanie what did you mean when you said you were possibly facing manslaughter charges?

  • @JustJoellly

Also just stop being so overly judgmental about absolutely everything that you personally would have done differently… like sometimes it’s just wayyy too much

  • @JustJoellly

I couldn’t even finish this one because of the shaming of abuse victims… if you haven’t been in an abusive relationship stop talking like you know better. That is all. 21:45

  • @aishwaryat3542

Honestly I think if Katie's mother would have left her husband then she might have been the one that got Ki***d by him. These kinds of relationships are traps. Once you get into one there is no escape. If she stays she has to get abused and if she leaves she knows what he is capable of. It is a TRAP.

  • @kristinlynn429

You’re right no 20 year old should be marrying a 42 year old …. However that’s the least of their problems when that’s her biological father and that’s his biological daughter!!!! It’s disgusting and makes me want to vomit

I had my son at 17 … and my parents picked me up from the hospital when we were being discharged and the nurse pushing me out to the car said “wow he’s only 2 days old and already looks just like his dad” and I had thought that she had met my boyfriend when he was there the other days … so I said oh you met his dad? And she looked at MY DAD! I was like oh my god that’s his grandfather!!! That MY dad!! Not his!!!!!! Yes of course my reaction was over the top at 17 but i feel like I get as disgusted and grossed out now as I did back then! She was like oh I’m so sorry! Then I guess he looks just like his grandfather – which he completely does .. even now at 14 he is like the spitting image of my father. But that has to be a normal reaction to something like that, no?

  • @kristinlynn429

    I can’t with the Fusco …

  • @sevipek5857

This is beyond bizarre. Upsetting and sick. Also whats up with the authorities not doing anything??

  • @gbacrila

The most jaw-dropping case I've ever heard. Disgusting. Beyond evil….

  • @heathermcpherson9047

So her adoptive dad was in law enforcement and he…went to the wedding and didnt say anything? What? 🤮

  • @jeanettehinds4253

I'm surprised at your title. I would have thought it would have been the tragic case of Katie and Bennett Pladl.

  • @moonhaze8332

Trailer park trash shall always be trailer park trash.

  • @Startwearingblack

I am so increasingly confused about the end of this video where you say you have a wife and that you’re facing manslaughter charges?? Lol what am I missing? Did a joke just go over my head terribly or what?!?! Help me understand, my brain hurts.

  • @laurynholling2309

Listen, this isn’t okay at all. The genetic attraction. It’s off and it’s gross. 🤢 I just want to draw attention to the man who “fathered” hundreds of children in Indiana because he was a monster and ran an ivf sperm bank. There was multiple cases of his “children” finding out they were siblings after being together. So there is something to feeling like you’ve “come home” and “being in love”. Not the case here. Knowing makes all the difference in 99.9% of these cases and learning information ruined their relationship. I just wanted to throw that in there though.

  • @amandavega3383

    the Hilaria Baldwin dig😂😂

  • @mahatheerhamid5785

Is this guy even a Human?

  • @zagubionemysli

It blows my mind that people as this father exist and terrorize evryone around them, contributing absolutely nothing positive to their families. He should have been isolated from society.

  • @NigelSmithNegsmazin

That guy looks old enough to be her dad!!

  • @gaetangamache8804

Nice healthy lungs you've got. 😮
