To all my fellow crime investigators, welcome back. My name is Annie Elise, and today we are delving deep into the chilling details of the shooting that occurred in Uvalde, Texas. This tragic event, which unfolded at Robb Elementary School, left 19 students and two teachers dead, with several others wounded. This was a heinous crime, a mass shooting that shook the entire community to its core.
As we piece together the timeline of events leading up to that fateful day, we uncover disturbing facts about the perpetrator, Salvador Ramos. An 18-year-old high school dropout with a troubled past, Salvador had a history of erratic and violent behavior. He had a nickname on chat room apps – “school shooter” – a chilling foreshadowing of the horror he would unleash.
From conversations with a girl in Germany to messages about purchasing ammunition and cryptic warnings, Salvador’s descent into darkness was marked by red flags that were all too easily overlooked. As the day of the shooting dawned, Salvador’s actions became increasingly sinister. From shooting his own grandmother to plotting his rampage at the school, the signs were there, waiting to be noticed.
The response to the shooting, however, was where the true horror lies. The delay, the hesitation, the inaction of law enforcement as Salvador wreaked havoc inside the school is unfathomable. While parents outside were ready to risk their lives to save their children, the officers stood by, waiting for shields, waiting for orders, waiting while lives hung in the balance.
As we unravel the aftermath of this tragedy, the grief and heartbreak are palpable. Families shattered, lives lost, innocence stolen. The community cries out for justice, for answers, for change. And as we grapple with the pain of this senseless act, we must also look to the future. How do we prevent such atrocities from happening again? How do we ensure the safety and security of our children?
The road ahead is long and difficult, but as we honor the memories of those lost, as we stand with the survivors, we must also pledge to do better. To be vigilant, to listen, to act. To turn our pain into action, our grief into resolve. For the victims of Uvalde, for all those affected by this tragedy, we must never forget, we must never falter.
And to Salvador Ramos, the perpetrator of this heinous crime, may your name be forever linked with the horror you unleashed, and may justice be served for the lives you took and the families you shattered. The investigation continues, the search for answers, for accountability, for truth. As crime investigators, let us not rest until justice is served and the victims of this horrific crime find peace.
Thank you for joining me on this journey into the darkness, into the heart of a crime that shocked a nation. Stay vigilant, stay determined, and never forget the lives lost on that fateful day in Uvalde, Texas. This is Annie Elise, signing off. Until next time, stay safe.

CORRECTION: According to her attorney, the teacher, propped the door open with a rock to carry food from a car to the classroom. She then saw Salvador Ramos crash his truck in a ditch near the school and went inside to get her phone and call 911. Thinking it was just a car accident, she came back out while on the phone with 911 and saw him hop the fence, carrying a rifle, and started running toward her. So she immediately ran back inside, kicked the rock out, and slammed the door. It was verified that she closed the door. The door did not lock and now investigators are looking into why it did not lock.
All of the details, in this case, have me extremely upset. Share your thoughts below but please remember to always be respectful of others' options.

A gun is a tool
Guns do not kill people
@JoseLopez-nw3rt
Pigs are quick to give you a seatbelt ticket. They wear a weapon to protect, and they always use it on unarmed people.

How about more parental involvement. Most of these cases have too many red flags. Why wasn’t he questioned about his online name… school shooter?He was telling Everyone what he was going to do. I don’t get it.
@angelasummitt7682
Police were COWARDS
@mscotthem1973
This video had me wiping tears away. Those poor families.
@Kali-Moe
Exactly Annie they wouldn’t have had a thought if it was there children. Man my heart breaks for everyone.
@JP-iu4vz
Not 1 single gun law needs to be changed
@AdhdKarissa
I think this one has been the hardest for me to watch so far 💔
@estil333333
No gun law would stop this. Red flag laws are unconstitutional. Another tells the police that you are mentally ill just because they are mad at you so they take your guns. I would have to pay a lawyer and prove I'm not is just wrong.
@nikkiseeley9348
Annie, this case has gotten under my skin. Bc my twins were in 5th grade last year and I just couldn’t imagine.
Only bc I watched every single thing about this , the “police chief , Rolando , said he didn’t have his walkie. However, that doesn’t give you the right to be a f-ing coward . Just watching them sitting their 19 of them cowering while then babies we’re being murdered. 😊
@madridistaporvida6529
How is this a "stain on America"? What did Uruguay, Ecuador, Mexico, or Nicaragua do?
@mostlyvoid.partiallystars
This school shooting is disgusting but the LEO response is 100% more disturbing and that says something about our society.
@virginiacommit7393
I never knew it was that bad. I just bawled like a baby. Those poor kids.
@louisejoy6300
I still remember last year, seeing an article related to this tragedy. It was of this wonderful gentleman who undertook the task of making personalized coffins for all these children. I remembered thinking: this is a powerful thing. This here is proof there are good people out there especially in the face of tragedy. I thought the neatest part was how he spoke to the families personally so he could build and personalize all the coffins. It was a beautiful thing he did. And i just want to say: well done, Annie, on the videos you did on this shooting. The police need to be investigated too. Something went wrong somewhere that day.

In South Africa we have a huge process to obtain a weapon. This includes a back ground check, letters from neighbours and employers stating your temprament and general personality, age restriction and a gun compatency course (that includes a general mental evaluation) one also has to state the reason for wanting a weapon…and if its hunting you can only get hunting weaps… I have never heard of such AR weaps being sold to anyone other than private security companies.
@LizzieSAusten
Can't stop crying…
Rest in peace little Angels…
@Pegasus2020
It is really crazy that none of the 19 officers didn’t disobey orders and rush right in and stop the shooting. If I was a parent with a child inside that school and they prevented me from getting my children and other children while they waited in the hallway, there would be a big lawsuit!

I’m surprised because I work for a school district as a janitor and in a lock down we are required to go to every class and make sure the doors are locked put a x on doors so others know it was checked. Only after we have secured the doors restrooms and play area are we allowed to lock ourselves in. We are required to protect the kids first and yes I have been in lockdown a few times this year. I would gladly put myself in front of a child if I could but sometimes people forget the principal and staff members and the janitor are the first to lose their life’s trying to protect the kids. I hate that this happens and kids have to practice lockdowns . I pray for these families and pray harder no one else has to go through this.
@lori1649
Wow Wow Wow Annie! Thank you for getting the TRUTH out there. I had never heard all of this before. God Bless those little babies and their families
@lnr12241
The entire police dept needs a bunch of up to date classes, why didn't anyone take accountability for NOT going in and protect ing those children! They didnt even move in enought to know where he was
@keepitreal86
People still can get guns off the street ALL schools need to have bullet proof glass and need a safe room in every classroom or something stop sending money to different countries and do something in our country parents should not have to worry if our kids are going to be killed smh
@Rhoads6257
Disarm the public the police will protect you, NOT ! The police stood in the way of the parents. How can you depend on people you don't know?
@justinawilliams7104
My heart hurts so bad. This is sad
