The justice system in South Carolina has a long-standing tradition of protecting well-connected men from being held accountable for their actions, as seen in the high-profile case of Alec Murdaugh and his now deceased son, Paul Murdaugh. Paul’s involvement in the boating accident that resulted in Mallory Beach’s death, where he was found to be extremely intoxicated, highlights the privileged treatment given to those in power. Despite facing felony charges, Paul was able to avoid jail time initially, showcasing the preferential treatment given to those with influence.

Similarly, Bowen Turner, a student at Orangeburg Prep School, faced multiple allegations of sexual assault but was able to get off lightly due to his connections and influence. His attorney, South Carolina Senator Brad Hutto, played a pivotal role in securing a lenient plea deal for Bowen, despite the severity of the allegations against him. The systemic corruption and nepotism within the legal system in South Carolina allowed individuals like Bowen to evade accountability for their actions, contributing to a culture of impunity.

Dallas Stoller’s tragic death following the trauma of her assault at the hands of Bowen Turner further highlights the failure of the justice system to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable. Despite overwhelming evidence and witness testimony, Bowen was able to manipulate the system to his advantage, avoiding the consequences of his actions. The manipulation of the legal system by powerful individuals like Bowen’s father, an investigator for the solicitor’s office, demonstrates the pervasive influence of the good old boys’ network in South Carolina.

As Dallas’s family continues to fight for justice and accountability, it is essential to shed light on cases like these to expose the systemic failures and ensure that victims are not silenced or forgotten. The pattern of leniency towards offenders with connections and influence must be addressed to prevent further injustices and protect vulnerable individuals from harm. Share this story, raise awareness, and demand accountability for those who have abused their power and privilege. Justice must prevail, even in the face of entrenched corruption and nepotism.

Seeing comments that different counties have different rules for mugshot attire. Even so, he still got special treatment MULTIPLE times regardless if he took the photo in street clothes or chains and a straight jacket.

  • @nddst77

The smug comments by the father make me think the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

  • @amberheard3173

I love what you said, they all have blood on there hands

  • @robynberry7138

Unfortunately his friends won’t understand until they have daughters and they won’t want him or any guy like him near their daughters

  • @user-tr6sm7ki4p

Disgusted with SC…horrible!! Thank you for shining some light Annie.

  • @lisafisher1558

Annie this sounds like a judge here in Montana gave a teacher who had a sexual encounter with a student who eventually killed herself becouse of what the teacher did . For the misconduct , the judge gave the teacher 30 days in jail . Later on it made national news the judge got a lot of backlash for what he did he did resentence the teacher don't remember what to .

  • @lorimcfarland4479

I also live in a “good o’ boys county. During my trial the judge, my lawyer, the abuser, and his lawyer would plan a fishing trip during the breaks.

  • @Sweet-n-Sassy609

    I totally agree with u.

  • @cthomp0419

Dallas is an amazing girl. So down to earth and kind. We had mutual close friends for years but only got the chance to meet one time. My heart breaks for her and her family, I hope she’s at peace and her family can get real justice. Thank you for covering this.

  • @Cindydame

    Preach sister !!!

  • @Cindydame

There is a special place in hell for these kind of people. Just my opinion

  • @krystalchapman2996

Hell yeah Annie!!! I LOVED the candid heated things you said about this situation! That gives confidence and courage to other women to speak up. This case had me so furious and my jaw literally on the floor the whole time!

  • @mistiwjordan3268

Sadly, the good old boy mentality still exists for this guy. I woke up this morning to be greeted with 50 parole violations. And yet he's been out of jail and arrested again this morning. When are they gonna keep him in jail and try to uphold some kind of respect for South Carolina citizens and keeping their daughters safe. And keep this guy in jail for crying out loud

  • @acw3007

This is absolute insanity. Shame on anyone who supported Bowen, especially the “higher ups”

  • @jaime_zap

What was the name of the boys club judge?

  • @esq321

He is easily escalating to be Serial Sociopath K … and has been enabled by his parents and the corruption 😮

  • @LauPalomas

Failed parents and parenting.. failed son. Failed judicial system. And failed State Disgusting.

  • @user-up5eh3ct2n

I’m only 16 minutes in and I get the feeling that his parents have a lot of $ to help influence school officials, judges etc.

  • @pamaleehodges9259

I absolutely feel like the “good old boys club is alive and well in the South. It’s pathetic.

  • @To_AT

You’re right Annie, it’s disgusting! Between Lawyers there’s a saying.. “A good Lawyer knows the law, a great lawyer knows the judge” Stuff like this happens everywhere unfortunately, and I always wondered whether is something they have on judges that can be used over their heads, otherwise it doesn’t make sense why a Judge would not do his job well. Emperor Syndrome comes to mind. If the perpetrator would’ve been from the slums he would’ve been lynched by the legal system.
P.S: school district should be sued.. Teachers should be held accountable on a civil lawsuit for their contribution on the psychological harassment towards Dallas. They are adults, they should know better.

  • @nicholaskXIII

It’s nice to be white 😊.

  • @crystalgilliam3006

Our judicial system needs to be more harsh

  • @crystalgilliam3006

    This happens way too often

  • @vanessaburridge2779

This is so wrong poor dallas didn't have a chance at being a happy successful woman because of Bowan so why should he have a happy future which he doesn't deserve for doing what he did to these women . And everyone who bullied dallas are just as bad as bowan they might as well of been there with the attack . May you R.I.P DALLAS XX🕊🕊

  • @dannybernstein1088

Sorry I keep commenting on this but you are a thousand percent right and wrong because you're wrong that they don't deserve all the people who stood up for him they all have blood on their hands not they might know they all 1 billion percent anybody who made a phone call to her anybody who bullied her any of them are all at fault

  • @dannybernstein1088

It's amazing that there's nobody to investigate the investigators huh The amount of corruption in South Carolina needs to be looked at by the federal government at this point gee look at the evidence when the investigator is the guy's father of course in the evidence is going to be skewed unbelievable

  • @Evanthebat15

Look at the way Bowen's father talks to the reporter vs how Dallas' father talks to the reporter. That should tell you everything you need to know about those children upbringing. Disgusting that he pretty much got away with it, that twerp is a serial killer in the making.

  • @mostlyvoid.partiallystars

There’s corrupt, and then there’s old-money white families corrupt. SC is corrupt as fsck.

  • @mikegreen8710

If this happened to my daughters I don’t think he would get a chance in court if he received bail.

  • @staceywamsteker5918

I liked what you said about him not deserving to go to whatever prep school, personally, I don't think it's about deserving it. A prep school is the LAST place this guy should be. Think about how many stories come out of that kind of culture, then you add a bunch of rich people that can literally pay for their crimes, so who even knows how many of these stories are actually out there.

  • @tabathaevans5541

This is disgusting and twisted. It's so infuriating and heartbreaking. I have been in a situation when out drinking as a teenager and someone thought I owed them something because he had let me drive his vehicle that night. Yeah I know that sounds crazy but this is what the pos human said to me as he was doing what he did. Then he dropped me off at my house. I ran upstairs to my room and started freaking out and was beside myself. I didn't want no one to know. I felt like it was my own fault because I was out drinking and driving at 16 ect. I put myself in the situation was what kept coming to mind. I got in the shower and that was another melt down. Then I wanted to just be gone. One of the main things that kept me from telling was because this happened to my Mom when she was 16. She told us this as we were coming in our teens. We were arguing why we couldn't do this and that. So she took us out for a ride and told my sis and I about her brutal r**e. So that wasn't something I wanted my mom to live through again. So I yelled for my Dad (step dad) and told him I wanted to be gone. He tried to talk to me but all I could say was I didn't want to be here anymore. They knew something happened but I just said I was depressed and wanted to be gone. So they took me to the hospital to be evaluated. I told them the same thing. They put me in the hospital. That's probably the best place at the time. I felt like I would of not been able to deal with life at the time outside of the hospital. But I never told til years later. I told my sister one night years later. I am talking about 20 plus years later. She then told my mom. My mom was of course devastated and wanted to know why I didn't tell her. These types of pos humans are everywhere. They are males and females that do this twisted disgusting acts. Sending Prayers and Love to Dallas's family and to the other victim and her family. My only advice would be get help if someone does this to you Or is doing things to you. Please say something to someone you trust. I wish I would of said something back then 😢. Sending Prayers and Love to everyone ❤🙏.

  • @sberry80

Bowen should be in prison for 20yrs to life for each rape, and 5 years for hurassing the family of dallas

  • @sberry80

Dallas's family should sue the turner family for the assault, and wrongful death
