Today we are diving deep into the disturbing case of Lacey Ellen Fletcher of Slaughter, Louisiana. Lacey, a 36-year-old woman living with her parents, was found dead in her home under truly horrifying circumstances. Her body, weighing only 69 pounds and covered in feces, urine, maggots, and insect bites, was discovered in a state of extreme neglect and decay. The scene that investigators stumbled upon was one of unimaginable horror, with Lacey’s body literally melded into the couch where she had been sitting for what appears to be years.
The details of this case are not for the faint of heart, as the level of neglect and abuse that Lacey suffered is beyond comprehension. It is reported that her parents, Sheila and Clay Fletcher, who have been arrested in connection with her death, seemingly ignored her deteriorating condition for over a decade. Despite claiming that Lacey was of sound mind and refusing medical treatment, the evidence paints a much darker picture of neglect and cruelty.
As a highly detailed crime investigator, it is clear that this case is one of the worst instances of neglect that has been seen in recent memory. The coroner’s report detailing Lacey’s cause of death as medical neglect leading to chronic malnutrition, acute starvation, immobility, ulcer formation, and ultimately sepsis, is a testament to the depths of neglect that she endured. The fact that she may have been neglected for up to 12 years is truly shocking, and raises questions about how such a horrific situation could have gone unnoticed for so long.
The release of Lacey’s parents on bond on May 4th, following their indictment on second-degree murder charges, is a troubling development in this case. The fact that they are now free to potentially flee is a cause for concern, and raises doubts about the justice system’s handling of such a heinous crime. It will be crucial to closely monitor the developments of this case to ensure that Lacey receives the justice she deserves.
In conclusion, the case of Lacey Ellen Fletcher is a harrowing reminder of the importance of vigilance and accountability in cases of severe neglect and abuse. As we continue to uncover more details about this tragic case, it is imperative that we seek justice for Lacey and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their heinous actions. Stay tuned as we delve further into this disturbing case and strive to bring closure to this tragic story. Thank you for joining me on this journey through the dark depths of true crime.

How did the parents clothes and hair not carry the smell out?
@kelliclausen9263
UPDATE: 03/20/2024 "Judge Kathryn “Betsy” Jones sentenced the couple to 40 years in prison with 20 of those years suspended.
The Fletchers, both 66, pleaded no contest to manslaughter on February 5, 2024, a reduced charge from the second-degree murder allegations they originally faced." As reported by Kiran Chawla @unfilteredwithkiran

Don't Google photos. Even blurred I am crying.

Obviously the parents were educated in the American education system.
They probably had an IQ of less than 100 and probably had the minds of 10-11 yr olds themselves.
Too common unfortunately because our own fellow Americans are seriously this vastly and maliciously undereducated completely by design.
You voted for this, now you deal with it and you deserve what you get America.
RIP America 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I think her parents just didnt care about her obviously maybe they did at first but for her to be sitting in that for that long? No their feelings of love and responsibility for her left them along time ago…they left her alone for the weekend to go somewhere nice…imagine being so hungry that you eat your own shit and chunks of couch so for them to say she never complained😅 is utter bullcrap…she mustve been suffering horribly and I doubt they stayed there cause NO ONE would be able to live in that SMELL…they would be smelling like that all the time and they would get sick from it to
@mdytch
I think the coroner estimated she had actually been dead for up to 48 hours before he was called. Nothing the parents say adds up. For example, no way was she pooping into a towel, otherwise she wouldn’t have been laying in a pool of excrement.
@courtneytorres8482
I would love to see your coverage on updates with this case❤
@esmeraldasoto6322
Did she have a room? Teenagers and young adults love their room. So did they onr day kick her out of the room? Did they just think she didnt deserve her own comfort of her bed and privacy
@soangelasays
I just heard of this case that came up on another platform. I am appalled by the details of this case. It's heartbreaking to think that someone could be left in such deplorable conditions, especially by their own parents. If they had the means to bond themselves out of jail, they certainly could have provided better care for Lacey. No one deserves to live in such neglect and filth. This highlights a glaring failure in our system. My heart goes out to Lacey and all those who have suffered similar injustices. So many cases like this is just heartbreaking.

She wasn’t 69 pounds. I can’t believe you said it more than once, she was 96 pounds almost 100. If she were 69 pounds I don’t think she would be alive for years or even barely alive
@EmmiLiaHoward
I would dare say she developed pressure sores which causes necrosis on the tissue that can be chronic and ongoing and yes it can reach the bone whilst you are alive.
@jessthemess1018
These monsters have been allowed to plead "no contest" to MANSLAUGHTER!! If this isnt murder I don't know what is! Itss he slowest case of INTENTIONAL neglect Ive ever seen, and it is the direct cause that led to her death….which is murder! I am horrified and disgusted! What makes it so much worse is the fact that they werent unable to provide her with the care she needed by having a home nurse come in or by having her in a nursing home! The maximum time they can get is 40 years, but some how I doubt that will happen. I sincerely hope she gets her justice in the form of several inmates treating them like they did her! But what's really insane is that not even inmates wpuld get treated like her!
@kristinamiller4309
Any updated video?
@kathleenlafratta2065
Maybe her parents believe she was possessed by the Devil. Those people in Louisiana are weird!
@kathleenlafratta2065
If the coroner found couch cushion pieces in her gut, then she was capable of movement in order to consume them. You can tell by the photos that she was tearing off ( or biting ) off pieces of the couch. My guess is the girl was so severely mentally ill that the parents were to humiliated to get her the help she needed. Let's not forget, this was the deep south. People there aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the box, if you get my drift! They finally just gave up on her.
@NotcannonGT
It’s so horrific her parents said that she didn’t wanna leave the couch, and that she didn’t mind the aches and sores she couldn’t even talk for crying out loud
@anniehills3580
I am shocked nobody has given them STREET JUSTICE FOR LACY!!!
@SummerMcKlusky
I’m speechless. I can’t wrap my head around this.
@SummerMcKlusky
12:21 the audacity of her to say that!
@MistySwayze
Why is no one talking about if she had a menstrual cycle or not? Thats bodily fluids added for most women!!
@MistySwayze
Who's here because they saw an update about the parents 2024?! And haven't seen this case!
@heatherlicious8224
Wow 😭
@caitlingoddard4017
Update. They've been given 40 years for manslaughter
@kellymundy9526
Locked in syndrome would not have allowed lacey to move anything but her eyes let alone be able to physically speak
@vhodgdon
They should have had her in a facilty if the could not care for her. Who was cashing her disability checks
@chrisbenesch5799
Annie, you are the best. I was actually pointed to this case on another channel, and I had to search to see if you covered it, and bravo, you did. I'll always get my true crime fix from you. 🙂
@Gigibaby88
She weighed 96 lbs when she died, not 69.
@d.j.mcbail
This is absolutely heartbreaking
@francineanchondo2589
I have been a home healthcare worker and I’m so happy to know while under my care no one would’ve went through this. It breaks my heart for this lil girl
@denisebacher5040
If she had severe autism she wouldn’t be able to say “nah I’m good, guys. Leave me here, my backside feels perfectly fine!”
My nephew is autistic and can take himself to the bathroom, but wouldn’t be able to say stuff like that. Plus just spilling water on his pants has him instantly removing them.
While I understand all autistic people are different my point is if her autism was so severe she couldn’t say that.
@britannyishee8321
Would love an update on this! I’m mind blown. I don’t comment on videos but watching this my mouth has been open the whole time. Sooo many questions!!
@JULi3T16
As an autistic myself I feel so appaled by what those monsters did to her! But I want you all to please not use the term 'asperger autism'. Asperger was a na.zi doctor who aswell slaughtered & murdered many many autistic children with his 'experiments' back in ww2. He has no place anymore. Autism is a spectrum, that's it. You're either autistic or not, tho when you are, the symptoms can vary immensly from person to person. Thank you ♥
@faemuz
This is really close to where i live, and it is completely sad to say, this doesnt surprise me with these "good christian people".
@kimberlyblake4762
I think it was the parents fault, at any time they could have intervened and went to a lawyer or the courts and asked for intervention and had her placed in a hospital or a mental health facility. I don't believe for one second that any human being would want to lay in their stuff or lay there and starve to death. By reports from the coroner she had foam in her stomach, please tell me did she really want to starve, did she really want to die. I DON'T THINK SO.
